Just a note - I recently received some feedback about the fact that I moved some talk about Freddie Freeman firing his agent from a game day tread to a Braves talk tread. I appreciate all feedback, but just a couple of notes:
It's quite amazing in my opinion that this site has continued to grow and also has 100's of non-members who visit the site every day. That and the growth in membership is because of the activity we have here that has improbably moved us up to the top 3 results on search engines. Part of the heuristics and dynamics that help that is because we do have multiple threads, and while I understand that certain aspects of the site have limited activity; any activity helps. WNC's brain droppings is viewed often even if replies are limited. The Music tread has always been interesting, and we do have activity in several threads on the main Baseball page.
Any decisions I make regarding moving comments are not done cavalierly, and I generally make those decisions with the continued viability of the site in mind.
So please keep that in your thoughts... and maybe occasionally visit the other parts of the site. I see enough political comments posted in the baseball forum that it's obvious some folk want to post their opinion about those things. Every click on a different tread helps the site.
As always, thanks to all of our members for keeping things going. Many of us have been around each other longer than a decade, and that's pretty amazing of you ask me.
Thanks for your support, - The management

Is there a way to reply to a specific comment? The quote button It drives me crazy when folks don't always reply to the quote button. I see a random post 4/5 down and have to take the time to figure out they are replying to a post above.

I rarely take action against members here, but I strive to keep this a forum for real Braves fans who support the team. People can be very knowledgeable about the game and it's many nuances, or they can just be casual fans who never played the game.. it doesn't matter.
That being said, there is a big difference between critiquing performance in a legitimate and/or passionate manner, and trolling... spamming, and making repetitive posts that to be quite honest... annoy me and other fans of the team.
The job I do here doesn't pay enough for me to deal with that.
Thank you to all the valued members of the site who are here because of their passion for the Braves. To those who might be here for other reasons, I have a slightly different comment: FAAFO
That is all.

Not sure if this is necessarily a introduction tread lol, but wanted to introduce myself anyway.
Live in North Carolina, am a EC teacher, and have been a fan for as long as I can remember. Best Braves memory is meeting Chipper and David Justice when I was younger and getting my bat signed; both great guys.
Looking forward to talking with you all!

Just FYI - There may be some slight modifications to how we use game day threads in the near future.
It seems the game threads are being used for almost everything posted here. I am considering not opening game threads for posting until closer to game time, and then closing them down early the next day.
If this is done, another Braves general discussion tread will be at the top of the page. The bottom line is that we need some more activity in multiple threads.
Just some ideas that can benefit the site.

Maybe we could try to restrict the GDT to strictly discussion of that game that day. Which may be tough to actually do. WNC does post helpful pregame stuff while the rest of us tend to post all kinds of stuff, because we know it won’t be seen in other threads.

Using the game threads to talk about everything does not, and the game threads were designed to be about just the game that day itself; Not about general Braves chatter and other topics. It's not meant to be a tread post competition or an affront to the game day threads. It's just sometimes other things worth talking about get lost/buried in the game day threads pretty quickly as soon as the game starts.
