I just logged onto the bored via the tapatalk app, and it had pulled random pictures from treads that contained them to use
as tread headers, and it was pretty doggone funny stuff.

Making money posting links driving traffic to sites is a thing! I read about it on the internet. It was either that or he was a moderator for MLB who was trying to keep the bored busy by posting those links... ...or possibly he was just crazy, because that's all he did almost every day of the week for 8-10 hours a day. Maybe jah was str0k3r! LOL why does everyone keep saying that, I don't post that much. I'll put up news in the morning and after that I'm hardly here. And I was SICK man, I was in very poor health at the time you started this site so I got an inflated post count. But I'm not being the bored loser man, no way. I'm not being 'that guy.' I'll sit back and barely post until all of you have three times the posts I do(like on the old bored) and we will just see who the loser is then. lol In all seriousness I don't know about Stroker. He could have been sick, disabled or retired or whatever. I know lots of people like that. And some people are just extremely good at multitasking. Look at WNC, he had 100,000 posts and runs like 40 of his own businesses, married, flying all over the place..just those really driven successful people that are always doing something. And if he worked at a PC all day those links wouldn't take up much time at all. |

I am near a computer a lot for my business, and frankly, the old message board was apt to have information on the actual news or sports QUICKER than ESPN or the MEDIA, as many were pulling from numerous sources and were quick to report things. I enjoy this Board so far. |

I applauded stroker for his work. I do think him being paid for it makes the most sense, considering he wasn't much of a talker and more an information guy. I try and take a little from what I liked about what he did and put it here. Also just because I like this bored and want to see it do well. I had 4646 posts on the old bored and I'm already creeping up on 1000 on this one. I can't remember the year I joined the old bored, maybe like 2008. It would have been really nice if they could have gave us a notice so we could have searched for threads and such other things that mattered to us so we could look back on and reflect. I know I made a heartfelt message about Chipper when he retired. I doubt I'd ever find it with their crappy search engine box though.
We haven't had a new member in awhile, I've come across an other braves board that's very active with lots of members, good posts and information, but the forum looks like it's run on windows 98. It does have sections boxed out for like the sticky stuff which I like, but that's about it for the whole interface. I know it took time for that forum to grow. I noticed they have their problems where the moderator has to step in, they'll have to tell them to take the politics to the right section, but it's mostly good information and respectful people.
We've done good here though, and like I've said this bored looks 10 times better than that other one and 100 times better than the old one. Maybe we need to think of ways to get more people to join though. I don't do much social media. Pretty much this and youtube. I just think it's funny you get 200 guests a day and not one of those will join. I've begged for more people to post in the music bored since it gets so many views. (If those views aren't from me, jahg, and uckery) Not saying it bothers me, but I'm going to run out of songs eventually and then I'll just be searching for new stuff.
The boom of this bored started at the end of the old one. It's pretty amazing where it's at in such a short time. I just hope people don't get discouraged from posting here, despite some of the weirdest responses you can get from others. Some of these responses are head scratchers. This is just a little old message board, can you imagine an entrepreneur creating a business in the shark tank world we live in. It takes some balls to do what they do. This is just my way of saying, if you like it use it to the best of your abilities, and go out of your way every now and then and make it better.

like that Doug kid that went to my high school, he jumped into a rock quarry and crushed his balls and had to have them removed

I and others made several appeals to str0k3r to join over here. I understood the value he brought with his posts, and I did what I could to get him
to join. I've also appealed to others who have joined here and never posted, but I am not going to beg. I've done the best I could to provide an enjoyable outlet
for everyone affected by the demise of the old bored, and at the expense of a lot of my personal free time. Any help anyone can give to bring others here and help
us grow has always been, and will always be appreciated.

That should be easy for someone if they want that. Just sign up for all Braves news, sites, updates, facebook, twitter ect. or a few people could do it whatever |

I hired a guy one time named Jim....
Jim applied for a job with me and noted he was former Army, but had gotten out on a medical discharge. I asked him what the medical issue was and he told me he was in Ranger training learning how to parachute.. He said on his 3rd jump, he pulled the cord and didn't realize his left nut was under the strap of the 'chute. So when the 'chute yanked, it exploded his nut.
I looked over his resume further and noticed he hadn't worked in the 9 months since he had gotten out. Long periods of not working being a red flag, I asked why he hadn't been able to find some sort of a job to just get by for that long of a period.
His response was "I looked real hard, but I couldn't find anyone who had a need for an M-60 qualified machine-gunner with one ball.
I hired him on the spot.
