I've always been a huge fan of the Braves, but this cheapskate crap is getting old. We never make a splash.......unless we're giving away talented young catchers. Then we're all in I guess upper management will be okay finishing 2nd or 3rd in division and make WC series, lose in 2 and continue the cycle. Hey we did win it all in 2021. Maybe in 2047 we can win it again.

It’s a well established fact that the huge majority of Braves fan are happy as long as we’re competitive, and they really don’t care about details or being critical. Just casual fans. And that fan base will stay 100% loyal as long as we’re good. Then there are those of us who are critical but also realize the Braves management isn’t going to care what a very small group of fans think. People in this group will complain about the contracts, but we also get what the Braves are doing and why. We’re not happy about it, the Braves are going cheaper than even sensible people want them to, but we’re not incessantly complaining because we won’t sign Ohtani or Soto. No amount of bitching is going to change a thing when it comes to contracts. We have very well established patterns. We’ll offer 5+ year to very young players we believe in, but there won’t be any huge money deals. We aren’t going to sign ANY big money long term deals with any player. We’ll look for one or two year deals at a higher pay rate for established veterans. If your younger players pan out like ours have it’s s a perfect working model to appease most fans. And there are those who will bitch incessantly about the contracts despite the fact it won’t do one bit of good. Look at how much bitching Faillies and Mutts fans have done, and the result has been……….. Yeah. The irony being look at how seldom teams have actually bought a World Series title, after all the money spending. Look at the Yankees for almost 50 years now, and the big market wannabes like the Faillies, Mutts, Angels, and even the Dodgers…….look factually at how seldom they’ve won it all. The current day Faillies are an absolute joke. All that money they’ve spent, and what’s the result been? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I get all that, I really do, but I would still like to sign a top flight pitcher and outfielder.

I get all that, I really do, but I would still like to sign a top flight pitcher and outfielder. I understand, ideally so would I. I also realize the Braves simply aren't going to it. But I wish we could at least look at second tier level, but we aren't going to do that. Not with the OF anyway. I do think we'll sign one mid tier starter, probably Charlie unfortunately. I really think we need at least two SP, even if they are back end, because we are looking to be even more vulnerable to SP injury in 2025 than we were in 2024, and that was a mess, saved by the pure luck of Schwellenbach coming up so big.
On the bright side, we've brought back Ray Kerr today and strengthened our "ORGANIZATIONAL SP DEPTH!!!"
