LeBron goes down 3-0 I am pleased The next game is the one where I figured that the Warriors would lose on purpose or just not be putting up much of a fight, but with Curry having a bad game and him wanting to get the MVP that all might change. Both teams might be ready just to get this over with instead of the Warriors winning it all at home.

Ok the more I look at tonight's game stats the more I think it put's Curry out of of the MVP spot. He'd really have to go off on in the next game and Durant shoot below average. That's if they win.
Look at all the other role players stats, they are the unsung heroes in game 3. Starter Javale Mcgee 5-7 10pts Bench Andre Iguodala 3-4 8pts Shawn Livingston 4-5 8pts Jordan Bell 4-5 10pts ------------------------- Combined 36 points, 76.2% shooting, Centers Mcgee and Bell combined 20pts in 25 minutes. Javale has seen little playing time this season because of his asthma, but I gotta give to Kerr for giving him the start.
Durant vs Curry Game 3 Kevin Durant 15-23(3pt 6-9), 65% shooting, ft 7-7, 43pts; 13 rebounds Steph Curry 3-16(3pt 1-10), 18.8% shooting, ft 4-4, 11pts --------------------------------------------- Game 2 Kevin Durant 10-14(3pt 2-3), 71.1% shooting, ft 4-4, 26 pts Steph Curry 11-26(3pt 9-17), 42.3% shooting, ft 4-4, 33 pts --------------------------------------------- Game 1 Kevin Durant 8-22(3pt 1-7), 36.4% shooting, ft 9-10, 26 pts Steph Curry 11-23(3pt 5-11), 47.8% shooting, ft 2-2, 29 pts
Game 1 Curry gets the mvp but Durant was fouled a lot making his free throws. Game 2 Curry did awful in the paint, but made up for it at the three pt land, making history for most three's by a single player. Game 3 Durant breaks his all time point record in a final and Curry for the most part hurt the team on his shooting.

Durant had a triple double, 20pt/12r/10a. Triple doubles can be severely overrated, but the most telling was Durant's +/- at 30. Far better than anyone else on the team. Curry had a decent game 37 pts. He shot better at three point range than at 2's. His +/- while playing was 18. Zaza can also now be happy with the 2pts he scored tonight. Maybe he'll retire now.
Thank God the playoffs is done. Now lets see how bad the Hawks do in the draft. I have optimism for them.

I've been anticipating this draft all week. Now everything is indicating the Hawks will be trading down to get Trae Young. We got Luka Doncic at our fingertips and we're probably going to gamble with the biggest bust potential in the top 10. I can understand where they're trying to go. Probably get a guaranteed top 3 pick in the future and get a pg that will replace Schroder. GM Travis Schlenk came from the Golden State system so that's an other indicator we'll probably trade down for Trae Young. But it's freaking Luka Doncic man. If he's there at three, TAKE HIM!
All these reports are like a roller coaster for me. This draft is pretty deep but for the Hawks to trade down I'd rather take Mo Bamba over Young. We'll probably make a deal with the Mavericks so they can get Doncic. Like they need another foreign superstar.
Getting Doncic would be excitement and maybe better future FA potential. Getting Young would be long process and better future draft. We also got 2 more picks in the first round and also one at 34 too, but that's to much to think about at this time.

I'm curious about the Hawks decision to get Trae Young. I don't watch enough college basketball or know enough about either player to have a real opinion on this. I just know Trae Young received a lot of media coverage the whole year and a bad 2nd half of the season compared to the first.
I wonder if by 2019 or 2020 the Hawks will have anything with this trio of Prince, Collins, and Young. I've liked the former two a lot so far and hope they take a big step forward this year.
NBA is brutal. We gotta get lucky and hope one of these picks tonight turns into a super star.

It was a terrible decision. It is being mocked as clearly the worst of the early picks. In a sea of A+ to B+ picks so far, the Hawks had the #3 spot and pulled a C- by most accounts.
Just like I knew they would.
It's not that Trae is a C- player... its that the Hawks had a chance to grab a pick that may be one of those transcendent franchise builders, and they gave that chance away for a future 1st round pick.... which they will again blow.
The Mavs are being judged as the big winners of the night for getting the player the Hawks should have had... who was ranked #1 on many boards.

Exactly we had Doncic just given to us. Many thought he was a steal at three and should have went number one. Trae Young looks fragile, he's going to get eaten up alive on defense. I havent done much research on the other guys yet. I've looked up Kevin Huerter's highlights he looks pretty descent. He's got some pretty good moves and can shoot three's. I don't know how good a white ginger will be in the NBA though.
Trae is considered far beyond the best passer and best 3 point shooter though. Even if we got Doncic we'd still have too many holes. This draft is disappointing, but it's still way too far away to completely hate it. Doncic looked great in a Hawks hat so that's the part that really hurts me right now.

We do need more pieces than just Doncic, but he is very possibly that caliber of superstar that championship franchises in the must have. Trae is just a solid surrounding piece. The Hawks thinking was to get that extra 1st round pick, but what they are doing is just rebuilding the same type of team they had earlier this decade; a team of several nice pieces that will win 52 games in the regular season and get summarily dismissed in the second round of the playoffs. This will last for about 3 seasons until all of our "pieces" want to leave to go somewhere with a player like Doncic so they can actually win a championship.
The Hawks just don't have the formula... they have the whole idea backwards. Get that one franchise star, then the pieces can br assembled around him. in fact, the pieces will come to you.
Not the Hawks though... they want to just do enough to keep the natives consistently interested with the team on the post season radar. They are not ever going to be championship relevant unless something drastically changes.

Boogie Cousins the the GS Warriors. Basketball is a complete circus.
Also Trae Young shot awful in summer league. Like a bunch of air balls.

^ He shot better towards the end of summer ball and shot better towards the end of the preseason.
I know it's still ridiculously early, but I'm not finding Trae Young to be such a bad idea. I've seen flashes of Curry in him, and he put up 35 points in his 3rd career NBA game. I think Heurter and Spellman have potential to be decent role players, and I'm still really high on Prince and want to see how the team progresses when Collins comes back.

Yeah I see a lot of greatness in Young already. He had 24pts and 15 assists last game. He's shooting threes in the low 30's and he gets blocked a lot, but both of those will improve when he has a good team around him and is more seasoned. He distributes the ball to the open guy well and makes this sub par team much better than without him. He has plenty to work on but as of right now he and Doncic have been about evenly matched in production. Huerter and Spellman have both made decent impacts so far. This team might be too good to tank once Collins returns. My worry is that we'll be too get that one draft pick to push us over th edge and we'll just turn back into the Hawks that gets to the playoffs and goes out the first round. With how good Young's passing is though I just hope a superstar FA would want to come play here for once.

We wont have anyone around him good enough to win anything before we trade him knowing we wont be able to afford his next contract.
