Big Bear 1 out triple but is stranded. 5-3 Braves, Top 8th. Marlins in, Cubs out. I feel badly that we devastated the hopes of the cubbies … Oh well, we can think about that tomorrow har!

Wow what a heads up play by Ozzie there, and a great throw while on the run!

Maybe the run didn't score. I assumed it did on the slow grounder.

What about all the hatred for Strider though?
lol......
I get not feeling comfy, Strider's ERA is going to be about 6.00 for September, I just think some of the criticism is over the top, he's still a young pitcher and will take some lumps.
Yeah, well this team can win it all and we need him to pitch better, especially with Charlie out. The failies worry me anyway, and if he's taking lumps the day he faces them, a great season goes up in flames.

All things considered he's done his share this season and it's not his fault the pitching is pretty much in shambles. I'm certain he's well aware of the situation and it's a lot to put on such a young pitcher. It sucks, three weeks ago I felt super great about our chances, now the pitching scares me a lot. But if the pitching is bad and we lose I'm not going to put in on the shoulders of a 2nd year 25 year old pitcher who suddenly got thrust into the #1 slot (if Fried can't cut it) and expected to lead our staff through the playoffs.

Oh I’m not going to put it on him, either. He's been great for the Braves since he arrived. That doesn't change the fact that we need him to step up on the big stage, and FWIW I believe that he will.

He's either unhittable or vulnerable, completely dependent on his command on any given night. And we usually can tell within the first 15-20 pitches what we're going to get.
