Why in the world would you send Luke Williams up to bat for Rosario in the 8th when you have both Ozzie and Blowzuna on the bench in a two run game?
Talk about just conceding that you don't care about trying to win a two run game late.....I could see if there was a ten run differential.
What a d-bag.
I’m sure in Snit’s head he was giving Rosario rest …I don’t get the sitting out last ABs as rest but my main concern is why is he here? He’s a SS and not a very good one

I know AA let us down by not acquiring that rag arm Lorenzen, but big props to him for this Pierce Johnson guy. What a move. The guys numbers are so bad and his stuff is pretty sweet and he’s been great for us. According to the box/recap he did own Acuna, Murphy, Arcia, Riley and Pillar. Without super hot Matt Olson he probably throws 6 shutout innings. He got the win and what a disgrace losing to Lorenzen!

d'Arnaud for the season is now .234/.288/.424/.712
He's a starter for a non playoff contender or a nice back up catcher for a contender, which nowadays means he should start about 50 games. And Murphy should start about 110. But the nitwit managering guy is acting like we still have Flowers and d'Arnaud with this every other day platoon nonsense with the catchers. It's likely a big part of Murphy's problems, he's not getting enough ABs.
It's hilarious (in a painful way to me) that for 7 of our starters Snitwit religiously believes they need to get literally every single AB they can, even if we're winning 17-1 late in a game. But then he has Murphy and Rosario he's raping ABs from on a regular basis, because for some reasons ABs aren't as important to those two players.

If you want to know the truth, he's pitched 84 innings of high leverage ball in his career and has given up 75 earned runs. Case closed.

If you want to know the truth, he's pitched 84 innings of high leverage ball in his career and has given up 75 earned runs. Case closed. The Braves i.e. Olson did pump his ERA up to over 4 now. I hope we bomb him next time but I doubt he'll pitch in the series next week or the playoffs except for maybe a relief appearance. He's a free agent so I doubt they try to resign him unless he impresses the next several starts. He has been less than stellar with the Phillies, except the no-hitter of course, after a decent season with Detroit. He'll be 32 soon and doesn't throw nearly as hard as I remember either. He may get a low offer in the $2-3M range depending on how how finishes the season or may just get an invite. If teams keep signing guys like Sean Newcomb and Shelby Miller, who has somehow miraculously found something after 6-7 years of nothing, I'm sure they will take a gamble on Lorenzen. Thinking about it Soroka may be one of those guys that survives 3,4,5 years and then finds something too, although I'd rather he find it with the Braves in ST. It's odd how you see some of these guys pop up after you thought they were long gone but teams are desperate for pitchers and will sign anyone they think has a chance to be serviceable at some point. We've had our share the last several years in Tomlin, Erlin, Milone, Chacin, Smyly, Odorizzi, Thornburg, Bracho, Chirinos etc. A few last for a little while but eventually most either get hurt or blow up, except the incomparable Jesse Chavez who sucks everywhere but Atlanta LOL. Sometimes you find one like Tonkin this year that can actually help. Always looking for that one guy to be a diamond in the rough.

I think Lorenzen is a 4 or 5 on a non contender. Aside from never pitching any big games he’s also had issues between his ears, he’s had problems blowing up like Folty did. No thanks.
We’re definitely going to have pitching issues that AA will have to address and I trust he will somehow. I see a zero percent chance we can extend Fried, he’s going to command too much. We should have tied him up 2-3 years ago. Maybe we tried but he knew better.
If we don’t sign him it does give us good money to sign another good proven starter. Then AA has to figure something else out too. Maybe Wright will be ok next year. At any rate I do trust AA will do a good job.

Was at game 2 last night. 6 rows up from Braves dugout. A ton of Braves fans seem to get tickets there and just congregate. Lorenzen threw close to 30 pitched in the 1st inning but gave up nothing. His stuff wasn't overpowering but just good enough. Matt's 3 run bomb was a thing of beauty, as I had a perfect viewpoint as it left the yard. Look...the Braves did put up 5 runs. Wright unfortunately wasn't ready, and it showed. On a side note, Acuña does gets some loud boos tho... Like Harper on the road. Prolly because of the hr theatrics circling the bases. John Kruk, who is Phils color analyst said that to get booed, you gotta be doing something right since..." Nobody's don't get booed..." He also said that Acuña was the best ballplayer on the planet. Including Ohtani. And Acuña was the MVP hands down. Breathtaking skills.he said. My main hope going forward is that nobody gets hurt... and that Ronnie gets 40/100... Looks like a cinch bet I think.
