I am done with these relievers that can’t throw strikes. We still had a good lead.... 2 outs... 0-2 count.... and he is so wild that he hits the batter. He was missing the plate by a foot and a half. I have no use for a relief pitcher like that.

At this point, the only relievers worth keeping are Carle, Minter, Winkler and maybe Freeman. I’d start replacing the others one by one until we find the right mix. The sad thing is that the offense has been awesome, the starting pitching good enough but we will never take the next step until we get the Achilles heel of the team fixed.

Am I the only one that noticed the Cubs pitchers all had control troubles yesterday too? It was brutal conditions. Our bullpen does suck, about half of it anyway, and I’m not defending any of them, but it was really rough weather to pitch in.

The greatest irony of the whole day to me was when we brought Moylan into the game.......because nobody else could throw strikes. I laughed at the time and said well this probably isn’t going to go well.......

The weeding has begun. Jackson DFA’d and Sims called up.

So when you bring in a guy who has had control problems his entire career, most of which came in perfectly fine weather...

It's kind of lucky that Viz didn't get into the game, think of the roasting he would have gotten after throwing 20 out of 20 pitches called balls......

Yes the weather in Chicago was awful yesterday. Unless Ramirez & Jackson were given no time to warm up I still think blowing a huge lead with that many walks is inexcusable. None of the pitchers was warming up outside in the cold weather. The bullpen at Wrigley was relocated indoors this season. I also think both guys should not have been kept in the game as long as they were. They should have never been pitching long enough to give up 10 walks. If it is that obvious the pitcher can not find the strike zone then get them out of the game.

I couldn’t believe how long Ramirez was left in the game, he obviously had no idea where the ball was going. It pissed me off that it took so long to get Freeman in there, and then he did the same thing. Brutal.
