We get to sit an .800 OPS hitter tonight for a career journeyman who has a .380 OPS for July and August.

Justin Toscano @justinctoscano · 1h Best guess on this: The Braves have a rotation vacancy on Wednesday, and Darius Vines could make his MLB debut that day if the Braves don’t need him to pitch out of the bullpen before then. (Coors Field can screw up pitching plans very quickly.)

David O'Brien @dobrienatl · 2h Albies missed two weeks with a strained hamstring, and still ranks fourth in the NL with 90 RBIs and tied for ninth with 28 homers.

Pillar in for Rosie again, our manager is a dumb snit.

Pillar in for Rosie again, our manager is a dumb snit. Pillar:
July .133/.188/.200/.388 Aug .138/.167/.172/.339
Rosario in August:
.338/.416/.588/1.004
Utterly ridiculous.

Just to follow up on the Pillar thing, which of these lines looks better? This is Pillar and Rosario against LHP this year:
Pillar: .241/.259/.446/.705
Rosario: .289/.347/.511/.858
And yet you can count on this asinine platoon all the way through the playoffs.
As well, here are their career high leverage numbers:
Pillar: .227/.277/.374/.651
Rosario: .277/.316/.502/.818
Rosario high leverage this year: .412/.462/.735/1.197
Career playoff slashes:
Pillar:.203/.250/.365/.615
Rosario: .308/.370/.538/.908
And yet you can bet the greater majority of your rear end that Pillar will start in the playoffs against LHP and pinch hit for Rosario against LHP.

Homeruns 5 (Ozuna) 1 (Betts)
RBI 10 (Ozuna) 7 (Betts)

Unless BA is now important after being told it isn't, there is a bias.

If there wasn't a bias, Dale Murphy would be in the HOF. This is why I don't really get all riled up about individual player awards.
