Snit punted this one with Yates.
"Aomething something everyone has that day. Something something the goal is to won 2 out of 3, anything else is icing".
Jimenez was available.

JJ didn't pitch the day before. Using Yates again was just asinine, but I'm far from shocked.

Cant be too peeved with a series win at 80-43. Bur it is annoying to wash away opportunities to win like that no matter the record.

My concern isn’t that we just lost this game, it’s knowing our cement headed manager is so hard headed with his assigned roles that Yates will be doing this to us in the playoffs. The xFIP and walk rate give him away, but the eye test 100% tells you Yates never has a clue within 2-3 feet where the ball is going on any pitch. He can hit 95 and has a good splitter still, but it’s literally complete luck when he makes a good pitch. If you can’t command pitches it doesn’t matter how good your stuff is. But Snitker has made up his mind that Yates is an 8th inning baseball player set up guy, case closed.

Mush melon’s take on this game will be “Kirby showed a lot of gumption there, coming back to get two big strikeouts, he just couldn’t quite finish it off, but we sure love the fight in him.”

When a guy walks 2 hitters and hits 2 others in the same inning, that guy doesn't need to be in games much at all, regardless of the situation.

I always like to remember things like one of the hit batsmen came on a 0-2 count.
An 0-2 count and the ball was a legit 2 feet inside.

I actually understand Yates being on the roster and the fact that we will use him.
Just not in the 8th inning of a tied home ball game after we used him the day before and have JJ who wasn't used the day before sitting there in the pen.

Just not in the 8th inning of a tied home ball game after we used him the day before and have JJ who wasn't used the day before sitting there in the pen. It’s been crystal clear for two months now that Yates is the 8th inning guy. Period. Case closed. I guess Snit for brains can’t see from the dugout how wild Yates is. Even when he throws strikes and gets swings and misses he’s all over the place and missing his target by 2-3 feet. It’s insane, an ongoing disaster begging to happen every time he takes the mound, and he’s Snitker’s set up guy no matter what. I’m not going to have a stroke when it happens in the playoffs because I already see it coming, I’m pre prepared.
