When you're a -330 betting favorite (which is about as prohibitive favorite as you'll get)... and you have your "stopper" pitching against a below average team with a no name pitcher... and lose, then something needs to be addressed. Yes... because that never happens. Obviously he should be demoted. or... We can look back at the starters and see that those high three ERA's have come about mostly because of about 4 bad games where Snit left them in to give up 7 runs in 3 innings, but in the other 15 games they've started they were pretty much nails. To each their own viewpoint.

How do you take out a proven starter to put in a crappy bull pen? Difficult decision.

How do you take out a proven starter to put in a crappy bull pen? Difficult decision. Strider had thrown 39 pitches in the inning where he was removed and things were getting uglier for him pitch by pitch.
As bad as our pen seems, we still have the 3rd lowest bullpen ERA in all of baseball, which shows you how bad bullpens have become.
It also shows what happens where you try to make a major alteration to the nature of the game. You can't have starters only going 4, 5, maybe 6 innings if you're lucky every single night, it stresses pens too much.
