Riley had an ugly day today and has been striking out a lot lately, but prior to today: last 30 days .303/.748/1.051 last 14 days .295/.673/.968 last 7 days .292/.786/1.078 So please excuse me if I sit out the crucifixion of the bastard.
He can't perform when it's on the line. He does things well when it's not necessary to win ball games.....sigh.....and, yes, he's my favorite player. Too bad he can't come though when it's on the line. I guess his thing is that he can't perform under pressure This is wildly inaccurate

Anybody who expects any player to come through more often than not is in for a yuge disappointment.
If you come through 30% of the time you're one of the very top elite players in the game nowadays.

You just made my point . My favorite player is a disappointment he's not a top elite player.in that 30% His problem is he can not hit pitches on the outside corner. So he just lets them go. And that's where the pitchers start him out every time. He either takes the strikes or if he tries to hit them he swings wildly at them. Still he's my favorite player....he, Olson and D'Arnaud.

I refuted your point earlier in this tread. Here are the facts again:
Austin Riley, high leverage, 2023----> .333/.477/.788/1.265
wRC+ 217

Go back and look at the 2021 postseason. Riley was stellar. Think he's not elite? Put him on the market and you'll find out really quickly how elite he is.

Those pitches get out right handed batters about 90% of the time. Your claim about Riley is true of every right handed batter in the league and on this team, yet the only one you dog about it is the one who is supposedly your favorite player? Not buying it...
