I will be in town to go to 2 games in the middle of May. We are staying at the new hotel in Battery Park. We are not going to rent a car because my hubby does not want to deal with driving in the awful traffic there. I am looking for places to eat breakfast. I am also looking for a decent coffee shop. If anyone has any suggestions as to where to go for lunch and dinner I would love to hear them. When we went down last year we did not get much of a chance to walk around Battery Park since it was cold and I was sick while I was there. It would be great to great to get some recommendations from the locals for my trip. I am not looking to spend a lot of money on meals on this trip.

The problem for me is that I only know places on the east side of town. Now if taking MARTA to the Decatur station is something you wouldn’t mind doing, there are a ton of dinner restaurants right in the plaza as you exit that station. The West Egg cafe is a great breakfast spot, but again.. it isn’t real close to the Battery. I just don’t know that area too well.

I don't think hubby would want to ride around on the Marta. I can always use my phone to find places once I get there too. I just remembered I can also messenger a friend on Facebook since she used to live in that area.

Well see that’s the thing in Atlanta... unless someone knows places right there at The Battery... everywhere everyobe else knows will require transportation of some sort.

I did not think about that really. We stayed at the Sheraton last time and hubby drove everywhere. The hotel we are staying at this time was still being built last year. We should have plenty of time to walk around the area the day we get there. Our flight arrives before lunch time and both the games we are going to are night games. I just wish my phone would behave when I travel but it never seems to know where we are. I have the setting for location turned on but my phone either defaults to the last place I traveled or Chicago. I do not even live in the city so I have no idea why when I asked my phone to find a Starbucks near Suntrust Park my phone decided I should drive to one in downtown Chicago. We went to visit a friend down state IL not to long after I got to Atlanta. I was trying to find a Starbucks or a Dunkin Donuts in that area and my phone decided I was in Atlanta. In September of last year we went to see hubby's family in suburban KC and my phone decided we were in St. Louis and told me the nearest Dunkin Donuts was in down town St. Louis. My hubby's phone found one two miles from our location. I guess we will be using hubby's phone to find restaurants and coffee shops on our trip.
