Losage! The All Star break came one game to late for Elder and the Braves as they suffer their worse loss in over a month.

If numbnuts doesn't consider this a throwaway game why did he use Allard when we had Anderson and even Iglesias available right here? Throw your best guy out there and take the chance you might score 4+ in the 9th and pull one out.
Yes, we can't win every game, but why just give them a couple of big assists on their way to a win?
Why not give Hilliard or Culberson an AB here?

Blowzuna may be back.
He was 1-11 in this series with 7 K's and a GIDP.
But thankfully he hasn't lost that stupid grin he always has on his face.

This team will be fine …we’ve already won the series and any momentum the Rays acquire will dissipate over the AS break It’s just been so rare lately to lose that it messes with our heads … and we haven’t lost YET! We're spoiled! It's hard to watch a loss now, especially one where we get beat by more than 1 run. Totally agree …and we are spoiled! Yet many people here opined that it wouldn’t last forever …it didn’t. And, we don’t know we would have won had Bryce been removed earlier Today was a rare, stRAY loss …excited for our guys headed to their week of fun …we’ll deserved!

Yes, but we DO know leaving Elder in there to get beaten like a red headed step child didn't HELP matters.
Winning as much as we have seems to be even more intense than playing .550 ball. Maybe it's because we all know there's no way they could keep this level of play up and we're just dreading how far the pendulum might swing the other way for awhile. At any rate, I think we'll be fine and ready when the playoffs start, as long as we can stay healthy. I'd like to see everybody get a day off per week if we keep a big lead, but I'm not expecting to see guys get rested even a little.
Have a good all star break, I'm going to take a break myself.

Bryce seems like one of those guys …successful in golf, successful in pitching, an A personality perfectionist who lets failure affect him more than the average Joe Just an observation …. may be way off

Bryce seems like one of those guys …successful in golf, successful in pitching, an A personality perfectionist who lets failure affect him more than the average Joe Just an observation …. may be way off I've always thought that a manager can actually set young and inexperienced players back by insisting on running them out there every single day and pushing things when the player is obviously struggling. I'll always believe that Snitker set Dansby back because those first couple of years he played every single day, at times when he was in a month long or two month long slump where he was 100% lost. I think you can even ruin a guy's career that way. My biggest problem with today was that of all days, we happened to have access to anybody we wanted from the pen, so this was a day to make moves early and not worry about stressing the pen. Oh well.
Time to start another eleventy billion game winning streak when we come back after the break.

10 game lead at the break. I'll take it. You can only have an 8.5 game lead like the rest of us.
The next thing we know you'll be wanting your pudding without eating your meat. How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat???

It seems that intense because everyone sees any potential loss as the beginning of the inevitable regression back to the norm. We have the tendency to forget the pre-torrid pace norm for this team was still 1st place way above average. I mean we need to remember that even .500 ball from here on out puts us what... mid to high 90's in wins?

Braves bullpen has the lowest ground ball rate and highest exit velocity rate in the NL. Not ideal.

That is true, and I'm not worried about the big picture this year, aside from possible injuries as the playoffs get near. I think the intensity for me is knowing we're seeing something real special right now and I just don't want it to end. Not even for a day! I want it to last forever. I could see us having a 2-3 week spell where the bats all go cold at the same time, we'll just have to ride it out if that happens. Hopefully sooner rather than later, if it does happen.
