The less thinking Snitwit does the better off we are, that's painfully obvious to everyone. Unfortunately that also includes a total inability on his part to understand how to analyze anything with any level of intelligence, which leads to things like batting Olson second, especially for so long.
Snitker: "Freddie 6'5" tall, Matt 6'5" tall, both tall skinny white guys who play first base, bingo!"
I get not messing with what we've got going right now, but Hilliard is absolutely rotting on the bench, and I honestly don't even know who our backup infielder is. It's totally screwed up.

Fish boards thinking the Braves are hacking pitch comms and Ronald taking PEDs. LMAO.
"There's no way they can mash em that far and that frequently without knowing what's coming"
"Ronald[redacted]Acuña has decided to take PEDs"

I'm not going to lie, as much as our entire team is vulnerable to chasing pitches all over the place, there are certain games where we look like we are not getting fooled by any pitches, to the point that I can see it looking suspicious. But maybe we have a player, or several, who are good at picking up pitchers tipping their pitches and they spread the word in the dugout. Yeah that's gotta be it!

Maybe some truth to that, but we also have some pretty good talent top to bottom, and they've pretty much all been hot lately.

No doubt, but to me, for an entire team of free swingers and chasers, we’ve had quite a few games where our guys were right on an awful lot of pitches and also laid off a lot of good pitches. Could be that everybody is just seeing the ball really well. If that’s the case we should be patient if it reverses and everybody stops seeing the ball well at the same time. That’s such a weird phenomenon. When you’re seeing it the ball looks so big and slow it feels like you have forever to see it, make you’re decision and then rip it, but when you’re not seeing it well it looks like a pea going 150 mph. And I don’t think anyone has ever figured out how to get out of it, you just have to keep fighting you’re way through it.

I posted about it in the Braves 2023 tread I think. Maybe the roster tread. We had gone several weeks without a backup infielder and over a month fielding the same guys. I suggested Acuna might have to play infield during a game if anything happened to an infielder. I think Culberson is back now. Arcia needs a break. I like to see Culberson out there for a game in the Cleveland series.

I thought I saw Culberson in the dugout last night. I’d rather use Adrianza, but he’s not the guy like Charlie is. And Adrianza can play anywhere. I don’t care for Adrianza, but I’d rather use him than Chuck.
Hilliard has had 5 ABs in two months now. He was probably desperate to sign with anybody but I’ll bet he wishes that he was somewhere else now so he could actually play. He really should start a game every week or two, but how do you not even get him an AB in a game like last night?

That's just the way it is. They sure are fun to watch when they're on, though.

If they think the Braves are onto the opposing pitcher tipping his pitches….then somebody better hurry and tell Orlando lol When the lowly Cardinals whooped our azz a few years ago in the playoffs scoring 10? runs in the first inning and we were totally demoralized …my first thought was that they had picked up the signs or cheated That’s plausible for them This team is going thru a very hot streak but we all know it’s going to end The last thing that comes to mind is Acuna’s on peds

And Schumacher seems like the kind of manager who might pick up on that sort of thing and remediate the situation …he didn’t Time will tell when we play TB

We have a former Phillie, Luke Williams or something like that and another journeyman guy I don't remember. Could use Shewmake or Grissom but think they are want them to get regular AB's.

I don’t believe Adrianza was ever injured. He wasn’t playing at all, like Hilliard now, and then he had to go bye bye to open a roster spot. For whatever reason he fell out of favor and that was the end of that.

I don't claim to be a MLB manager, but I would think that starting Hilliard, Pillar, and whoever the backup infielder is once a week each would be the best strategy for everybody involved. I mean, there's no logical reason for guys to play 162 games. Seems that keeping guys reasonably sharp should be a much bigger priority, but hey, we're winning, so that's what matters I guess.

I've said this 100 times since Snitker took over, it's just stupid to play 6 or 7 of your guys every single inning every day. By the end of August they've gotta be tired but just fighting through it. And the bench guys have to have more than 5 ABs in a month. You'll have a couple games during the season where the bench guy will end up pinch hitting in a game deciding situation in the 9th inning, hasn't had an AB is two weeks and you have to pray he somehow goes up there and pulls something out of his rear end. Why do that? To me tired players are at more of a risk of getting injured too. It's just a losing concept. And even in games like last night you don't get them out and get some ABs for bench players, it's ridiculous. It's just another case of our players winning in spite of Snitkers managering "skillz." Mad skillz.
