Wednesday night game POSTPONED, to be made up in September. As of tonight (9:15pm, Wed), the weather doesn't look good for Thursday afternoon. Also, I wonder if both teams will change the pitching matchups.

Wednesday night game POSTPONED, to be made up in September. As of tonight (9:15pm, Wed), the weather doesn't look good for Thursday afternoon. Also, I wonder if both teams will change the pitching matchups. Well we did have a grand total of .01" at PIA, that's ONE ONE HUNDREDTHS of an inch between 8 PM and midnight. Other gauges in the area measured between .01" and .04", most at .01" or .02", through midnight. Hardly a reason to postpone. The radar echoes were exceeding weak and the .01" fell between 8 and 9 PM and nothing measurable through midnight and beyond. As far as today goes I think we have a lull before heavier rain moves later this evening and overnight. Light intermittent showers are in play, maybe a couple hundredths all afternoon. A just brief slightly heavier is possible. After last night I'm not going to venture a guess. It appears they want nearly ideal conditions to play a game these days. Remember in April when they cancelled a game in NY and it didn't rain and another time somewhere they cancelled because it was too cold and windy while the Braves played their game under similar conditions. I believe that was in Kansas City. I think they could have played two today if they wanted.
*** WEATHER UPDATE *** METMAN WEATHER SERVICES℠ 22 Jun 2023 10:05 AM EDT Philadelphia Metro Area BRAVES GAME FORECAST (1:05 PM EDT) Game Time Forecast: Cloudy with intermittent light showers possible. Temps in the mid 60. Winds NE 10-15 MPH. Any measurable precipitation expected to be less than .05".
-PA GO BRAVES!!!

The local sports talk hosts are demanding that the Phillies go out and spend whatever it takes to improve the team at the trading deadline. Money...minor league assets (yes, even Painter)... current roster players. With the team payroll already at $300m, why stop now is the cry. And leading all sports teams with 11,112 losses, who cares about the future? All I know and hope is that Elder shuts them down tonight. There will be utter chaos and mayhem with another loss which would be pure Schadenfreude to my soul. (Sorry for the big word).

They need to look at the HBP rules. Turner had ro half swing, sticking his back elbow out and down in order to be hit there.
There was a game last week when we had a another HBP situation where the guy literally and quite leaned forward in order to get hit.

Just found the game on NBC Sports Philadelphia being simulcast on a local over the air channel. Probably turn off the sound though.

Well that's what I mean... they need to bring it up and make it up as never being called, and start calling it. No effort to get out of the way, obvious leaning into pitches, and getting hit when the batters swing motion has caused it need to be waved off.
