A friend and I enjoy proposing stupid crap and arguing to the death so I will propose one for the gurus of this board.
Toronto gets: Freddie Freeman
Braves get: Guerrero and Bichette
Morales blows so switch out Smoak and Freeman at first and DH to keep them fresh. Might entice Donaldson to stick around. Basically this is them going for it.
The Braves have obviously wasted some good years of Freeman. Next year we can compete I’m sure but really 2020.
So my buddy says hell no. You don’t give up an MVP candidate, you build around them.
I say yes. Guerrero looks like a better hitter than Acuna, I kid you not. Bichette isn’t far behind. Assuming Swanson ends up decent then Riley, Guerrero, and Bichette would in some combination fill out the 1st, 3rd, and LF spots. Acuna in RF with either Ender (likely traded himself) or Pache/Waters in CF. Jackson, Cumberland, or Contreras at C. As all the youth meshes positionally, the pitching would have a chance to work itself out as well. Talking about 2021 before you expect anything but we would have all the money to sign these kids up long term in hopes of a dynasty.

I wouldn’t be surprised though to see The Nightman and a couple of others jump in here.

If I had Freeman, I wouldn't do it.
If I had Guerrero Jr. and Bichette, I wouldn't do it.

Lineup:
Albies Bichette Acuna Guerrero Riley Jackson Swanson Pache (if he develops some pop then look out, he would be hard keep out of the top of the lineup)
We would have to hire the right manager to deal with that combination of speed and power correctly.
Rotation:
5 of the following...
Wright, Wentz, Soroka, Fried, Touki, Anderson, Wilson, Allard, Newcomb, Gohara, this years first round pick ( this draft is pitching heavy big time and with all the college arms available and our current timeline this could be someone like Rolison)
Zero money on the books, I mean so freaking little money committed we would have no choice but to lock up the young guys to long term deals. Imagine if we went big on the front end of those deals so we had major financial flexibility on the backend. That would be right around the time we would start seeing Latin American players come through the system again as trade bait or replacements.
^ That is how you rosterbate

I want nothing to do with more steps back and more GD rebuilding. No more trading in your prime talent for Dumass prospects I have had enough of prospect overload -- especially with some of the failed young talent we have gotten (Blair, Wisler, Olivera, etc You really want to turn us in to a AAAA team? Enough is enough lets try to get a winner for a change -- the losing has gone on enough So far its a good start -- might have a chance at 500/ do not sabotage decency

How about some real proven pitching? They will have money to spend and it has to go to the rotation cause you cannot win quickly with a bunch of kids in their learning curve. They get another GD first round pitcher in this draft well, whatever.
Maybe one of them will be good -- for once it would be nice to have a real opening day pitcher then some mediocre garbage start on opening day

Man, some of U are killing me with this change -- ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Cannot stand the sight of Freeman in another uni -- got into a temporary state of disgust shock for a moment
No Freeman -- No Braves left / at least what was left of the inner city real ATL Braves
No one loves tradition anymore - I want Free to be around til he is his late 30s if that can be -- any loyalty left?
Or are we accustomed to chasing the next big prospect / TMZ mindset (one of my most hated show)

I would do this trade in a heartbeat However it would have to be this season. I would not do it in the offseason. We could get some guys next yr on 1 yr deals to hold down spots. I think this trade could give us another 14 yr run.

As long as we can finish .500 this year that's what really matters.

As long as we can finish .500 this year that's what really matters. Would I trade Freeman? Yes, but it would have to be under the perfect scenario, and right now isn't it. That being said, like I said previously, the Blue Jays wouldn't do that deal. Ya, Freeman would be nice to have, and prospects are volatile, but you just don't make that deal if you're the Blue Jays. What does Freeman give them? 4 extra wins? Is that gonna overtake the Yankees or Sox? No way.
