In 23+ innings at Gwinnett he has about a 4.70 ERA and 5.70 FIP. I'm sure he'll be amazing....

He is a young guy with a big arm. To show how quick he has moved up his twin brother is still in A ball. On the mound his bad numbers are b/c two terrible outings, he has been good otherwise. What happened to "In AA We Trust"?

On the mound his bad numbers are b/c two terrible outings, he has been good otherwise. What happened to "In AA We Trust"? Because things are not that simple-minded at all, and it has nothing to do with trusting AA. He wasn't called up to be the savior of the pen. He was called up to fill a hole as they wait for both Tonkin and Dylan Lee to come back from the IL. I doubt he sees much action unless it's a big lead or big deficit. hope he gets a chance in a game where we have a big lead and looks great. The assumption that he will because he throws a hunnert and the attempt to make it seem as if my hesitancy to do the same somehow contradicts my support of AA... is silly.

Mark Bowman @mlbbowman · 3m I get trying to protect against losing your starter. But teams should have just a 40 min. cushion. Using tonight's game as an example, the Braves could delay the start w/ understanding game would have to start at 8 p.m. if the rain hadn't yet arrived. Adds some risk.

I have not done an extensive analysis, however, this looks to be diurnally driven showers and thunderstorms rather than synoptic (i.e. widespread dynamical showers). My expectation is that they begin to weaken as we lose radiative heating. I would expect the showers upstream to be dissipating rather than strengthening we move towards sunset and beyond. There may be small areas that maintain enough strength to produce a brief light to moderate shower but generally not much more than that. I'll have to check the latest HRRR model runs and also if there are any upper level disturbances that could possibly lead to more development. -PA

David O'Brien @dobrienatl · 3m A chorus of boos at Truist Park when it was just announced that the game is now scheduled to start at 9 p.m. This place is close to packed, and people are just sitting in their seats (not standing in concourses as many do during rain delays, because it hasn't rained).

Latest HRRR is very spotty and not picking up an any significant showers just a small isolated batch to the NW. An isolated shower to the west may bring a brief moderate shower but may track just to the west. After that it looks pretty good. I don't see much upper air support i.e. frontogenesis, troughing or otherwise to support any significant future development. There is a weak surface boundary from prior shower activity that is sinking to the south but other than that these showers should be eventually be dissipating over the next hour or two. A brief heavier shower is still possible locally as the 700-500 MB lapse rate is conditionally unstable and favoring moist ascent, however, the instability indicator of mid level CAPE is marginal and MUCAPE is only slightly unstable. I would expect any future accumulation to be .05" or less. Same scenario is possible tomorrow. -PA
