I was never on board with all the Soroka hyp. My eyes told me he wasn't the same guy, at least not yet. His control was erratic, too many walks and wild pitches, and when he was in the zone I saw a lot of pitches up. Can someone explain why he needed his mechanics overhauled? He hurt his foot not his arm. The old Skroka was just fine with me. He may never be the same with the new mechanics. He certainly does not look the same. I hope he can work it out at AAA. I'm not sure what "hype" there really was, other than just being glad he could come back and pitch again. I don't think anyone voiced any grandiose expectations. I assumed it was going to be a work in progress thing. He has not looked good but I'm not about to give up him yet. The media more than posters here. I'm not sure what they saw to create all the optimism but I didn't see it. I certainly hope he does make it all the way back but until my eyes see it I can't be as optimistic as the whole media crew seems to be, especially considering he has reworked his mechanics for some unknown reason.

Ok. I never believe anything the media says, for a long time now. It’s either lies or bad information because of lack of actual knowledge or research. When it come to sports most of them aren’t even avid sports fans, they’re just trying to create interest so the can sell their gibberish.
I post articles sometimes because some of the topics are interesting, but at best I take everything with a grain of salt, especially when they start hyping something.

I never saw much hype myself. All I saw was excitement that he had just made it back far enough to get another MLB start, with hopes he could fill the Braves need.
I guess if there was some it was because supposedly the Braves were not going to call him up until they knew he was ready, and knew he was ready to stay. Pfft on that!

I’m sure the failures of our bullpen in bullpen games sped up the Soroka thing, kind of out of desperation, hoping we’d get lucky and Soroka would come in and do well right away.
