I'm about 99% sure we never really do anything other than take some fielding try and see how many we can put into the seats during BP. I would like to see people like Ozzie and Harris be forced to stand in the cage and hit 15 straight balls to the opposite side.

I’ve watched their BP sessions before and it’s just a contest to hit as many out as they can as far as they can. That’s not working on your swing. Freddie was always the exception. He tried to hit line drives over the SS spot. Use that time to actually make your swing good. Of course that’s what the players and coaches think they’re doing now, because the goal is to hit a HR on every pitch during the games. Pffffffffttttttt!!!!!

Braves need a manager. No telling how good they could be. Ain't gonna happen unless we completely tank the season, but I'd sure like to see what a guy like Francona could do with this team.

I often wonder if Seitzer ought to go with Snit should he ever get fired(not happening) There is just absolutely no fundamentals in their approach whatsoever.

This is where I think the coaching staff has to step in. I know they said the other day that Harris was out working on taking the ball the other way, but what does it do to your mindset to be out there at 11 a/m working on hitting away, but then right before the game to be back playing HR derby. I say that because not long after talking about working on hitting away, they also talked about hitting bombs in pre-game BP. So it seems like they took a few minutes to actually work on something and then went right back to the normal routine. Practice to fix the problem until it's fixed. I dunno... it's very frustrating because the talent is there and we don't seem to know how to draw it out. I often wonder if Seitzer ought to go with Snit should he ever get fired(not happening) There is just absolutely no fundamentals in their approach whatsoever. They love the guy because we are always near the top in HR's and slugging. I would add that at some point you have to look at the players and ask; "What... are you just plain stupid?" I mean Olson hasn't made contact with high heat once this year. His heat zone is absolute zero at anything above the belt..... and....... he............ just............. keeps................. swinging.................... at............................ them.

His heat zone is absolute zero at anything above the belt..... and....... he............ just............. keeps................. swinging.................... at............................ them. You can say the same thing about pretty much every player on the team, and yet every one of them keep swinging at those pitches. It's physically impossible to have your hands mid level or lower, uppercut for launch angle, and catch up to a 95 mph fastball that is at the very top of the zone or higher. I get that it looks good coming in because I was a high ball hitter, but I held my hands high and had a level swing. I also couldn't hit anything around knee level to save my life. But these guys are not high ball hitters, and at the velocity they're facing none of them ever even foul tip those high pitches, but they swing at it every time.

Olson isn't a good hitter. He's got power and that's it. He's Dave Kingman from the left side, basically.

Mark Bowman @mlbbowman · 4h Last night’s loss was a representation of the past three weeks for the Braves, who have the NL’s second-fewest wins and MLB’s third-best starters’ ERA going back to May 10

But in the A's defense they did beat the Rangers twice in the last 50 games. Oh.. and now us twice which gives them a ton more cred and would insulate us against any more pitiful losses to them in the future
