Edwin Diaz is out for the year with a tear of his patellar tendon in his right knee. David Robertson and Adam Ottavino are next in-house candidates to get the saves.

Eddie Rosario hit a 400+ HR to dead center tonight off of Urias, one of the best lefty pitchers in baseball......but don't try to tell Sgt. Poopy Pants that Rosario can hit lefties.

Sarge isn't watching the WBC, lol Not with all the hotdoggery that’s going on! I watched the Venezuela/Dominican game, and I must say the atmosphere was incredible. You ain't seen hot dogging until you've seen the Latino teams go at it. It was actually fun to watch. Of course, these are big games, so that's part of it, too. |

Rockies Daniel Bard is single-handedly trying to lose the game for the U.S. with one of the worst pitching performances I have ever seen. Entered with a 5-2 lead. He's walked 2, hit Altuve, thrown another wild pitch and given up a hit. 5-3 now with the bases loaded and no outs before they finally got him out of there.

My wife got so disgusted with Bard that she got up and quit watching.
6-5 Venezuela now after a sac fly from Acuña. 2 outs, runner on 3rd.

Apparently Bard's terrible pitching also resulted in broken thumb for Altuve.
USA up 9-7 in the 9th.

I've been watching winter league games for years, I've see it all. It's really ridiculous.....but what cracks me up is when they still get mad over it once in awhile. It's like they think it's ok to throw out the gentlemanly rules, but they really don't know where the line is, that's just random. It's ok to act like a bunch of retarded monkeys, but only to some unknown undefined limit, which I do find hilarious. 
Like when Assdroobal Cabrera started that big brawl this winter, like he has some room to be pissed about that with all the times he's gone over the top with it, really funny stuff!

I love my country. And it's always USA first, and only first. But after watching Realmuto, Schwarber and Trea Turner out there, it was as if I was watching the Phillies which I friggin hate to death. I actually found myself rooting for Acuna and Venezuela. I guess in a psychological sense that makes no sense... it was the Braves [Acuna] vs the Phils. I guess it didn't help that right after Turner jacks the grand slam I get 7 texts from my friends saying basically..."get used to it..." To which I immediately recoil in anguish. Could it be that I hate the Phils more than I love my country? I guess this will cost me another $130 to my thereapist to help make this make sense...  |
