I got a dollar that says Kemp SUCKS in the second half. Besides, even if he hits he's a god awful outfielder. That's why his WAR is still only 1.6. Nick's is 3.0 right now. when kemp plays RF he is rated as a top 10 defensive RF Markakis is ranked around 25.....As for his Defense in LF it isn't good its near the bottom just under Acuna. So are you saying, Acuna, is an Awful outfielder too? And what in Kemps past has shown him not to be a great hitter when Healthy heck he was better hitter fat and overweight that any OF the braves have had in the last 10 yrs Kemp has played 29 games in RF this year. It’s cool you’re looking at those stats, but you’re taking them at face value, instead of looking at context. Neck has played 3 times as many games in RF this year, which roughly translates to 3 times as many opportunities to make plays. In other words, Kemp’s defensive rating in RF is a small sample size.

Per mlbtraderumors
The Braves and Phillies have been linked to several major names this summer, and Heyman says the two NL East rivals have indeed been “involved in most/all the big stuff” on the trade front. According to some, however, Atlanta and Philadelphia have also seemed less likely than other contenders to move their top prospects. This jibes with recent comments from Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos, who was looking to make upgrades but expressed wariness about dealing top prospects, particularly for rental players. Both the Braves and Phils are somewhat in the same boat as teams who are somewhat unexpected contenders coming out of a lengthy rebuild, and since both are looking to begin some sustained success, they aren’t necessarily looking to make a big all-in push this year.

Kemp might have sucked in the second half of last yr but he did not suck in the second half of 2016 when he was actually good for us after that trade w/SD
Who knew that he would give the Dodgers a full days work for a full days pay and be in shape all yr
And we had to give Acuna a shot to play so what Alex did was not a bad move - IF and IF they use that payroll flexibility to improve the team this off season and not have another off season of Preston Tucker and Ryan Flaherty kind of pickups
If they choose to let Nick go and say, have a mix and match of Preston Tucker, Charlie Culberson and other low cost entrants as a starting OF than even the staunchest LM apologists have to admit that they are going cheap
The new ballpark and battery have not changed the scroogist ways as of yet - still early to tell what they will do
I put the rent money on the Phillies to make bigger moves -- for now and the off season
What the Braves do - I hope they are a player but do not know

I would trade Gohara for Moustakis if the Royals would do it
Gohara is looking like out of shape damaged goods and I doubt he is 21 or 22 - he looks old
For all the hype on Soroka -- what happens -- this guy goes down and this was supposed to be your foundational prospect -- another Dylan BundY? OR worse, Brady Aiken or Mark Appel -- maybe not that bad they never saw the majors but Soroka comes up and gets hurt -- more bad luck I guess or is it poor development
Our young pitchers have had a history of getting hurt -- this has been going on for some time - Beachy, MEdlen, Horacio Ramirez, Chris James, Tommy Hanson who did have the shoulder injury and other problems, sure you can think of others

Do you EVER have a positive thought about ANYTHING? 5-11 record since the highwater point of July 2nd That is not something positive to write about Will they help themselves for this yr -- cannot say they will or won't And our pitchers from the system do tend to break down quickly -- the fact and history is there I hope Soroka is not going the way of Beachy, Jurjjens, Hanson, Medlen, etc. I do want these kids to succeed but this injury with him has gone on for some time -- we have no idea how serious it is and maybe we do not need to know - but given how top tiered a prospect he has been it should be a concern This team is in a slump and hey, they need to get in good gear again -- its not good now

Sticking with the Rangers, MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan reports that the Braves have emerged as somewhat of a longshot suitor for third baseman Adrian Beltre. Atlanta wouldn’t be looking to supplant Johan Camargo at third base, but Beltre would share some time at the hot corner with the much younger Camargo while deepening the Atlanta bench and providing some leadership on a youthful club. Beltre has the ability to veto any trade, of course, and reports have painted the possibility of a trade surrounding him to be remote.
