The par 3 tourney is one of the best things to attend.
I was there for the very last one that Arney played in. It’s so fantastic because you can sit literally 3 feet away from tee boxes or greens. It is best to sit as well as you can pick your spot and then see everyone as they play through. There are some specific holes known for holes in one, and there are almost always several made. If you think about it, it is really amazing even if these are easy par 3’s.. it’s not a putt-putt course.
When the players come through they are really relaxed and they will engage with the spectators quite freely. It really is a special thing you never forget. I have had 2-3 minute conversations with notoriously cold Fred Couples, Jack, Fuzzy Zoeller. Phil, and the last time he was there; Arnold. I’ve attended the par 3 about 7 times. It’s really one of the coolest things.
Put it on your bucket list if you haven’t done it.. Get Masters tickets for Wednesday and make it happen.

We have 4 people try every year by the lottery draw and we've gotten a chance to buy tickets once. And I couldn't go because my health was so bad. I've been there once about 25 years ago for a practice round. It's getting to the point where I'm considering going ahead and paying some scalper through the ass to get some tickets one of these years.

It helps to have a rich friend who loves golf, but even then it’s not a sure thing. I went for 5 consecutive years and then after a several year gap, went back for Mon-Wed practice round and par 3 for two straight years.

We own the mineral rights to some land where there was a decent chance they were going to be doing some fracking--I could go every year if that ever happened, but those fracking frackers better get to fracking and I mean ASAP because I'm not getting any younger. I never had real high hopes, it was always a long shot, doesn't appear to be getting any nearer. Great round by Patrick Reed today. I love his all around game.

Yeah isn’t he sitting at 9 under after yeaterday when only about 20% of the field shot under par?
I think this would be his first major if he can hold on.

I own mineral rights (5 wells) in the Fayetteville Shale, near Searcy Arkansas. Back in 2008 I was receiving substantial royalties and then the price of natural gas dropped and they have been severely reduced. Chesapeake Energy restructured and sold their assets in the Fayetteville Shale and now BHP Billiton and BP have those rights. New well drilling has been reduced dramatically and some wells have been and are being capped although none of mine have. As you probably know the first year or two after a new well is drilled provides the most production (and royalties). Most of my wells are now 10-15 years old and only produce a fraction of what they once did. That along with the lower natural gas prices has drastically cut royalties. I think only one new well has been drilled over the last 5-6 years.

Our rights are on land in southern Illinois, my wife has relatives who owned some land there and we ended up with the mineral rights. The hang up for years was that the state of Illinois was wanting too much of a cut--that state is in such poor financial condition it's insane. They really need the money they could make from the fracking, but they wanted to be too greedy and it dragged on and on and never happened. I guess they're just waiting for the day I die to announce they're going to do it and on our land.

Rory fell off...
Jordan Spieth and Fowler however..
Spieth would be in the lead excepting for that 74 in round 2
