Shea Langeliers after 11 games in AAA ball for Oakland-- 3 HRs so far and .308/.413/.615/1.028
He's thrown out 3 base stealers out of 7 attempts so far. He's already thrown out more runners than d'Arnaud has in his entire career.
He did not get much of a look with them in spring training, I was surprised.
So far they are basically using........Sean Murphy and.......................Christian Bethancourt as their catcher. WAT?
Langeliers should be along sometime soon.
Pache hit his second HR of the year on Thursday. He is wowing them out there with his defense already.
Well, we gave up something to get something That Langeliers might be a future star would not surprise me and Pache, maybe he has figured something out we knew he could play in the field Note the one prospect given up that could be the future closer in time for them is Cusick, don't know how he is doing but that is what he was drafted for Looks like this is one of those deals that might be good for both teams involved if Langeliers projects as expected. Oakland is up and down but they rebuild quick, if they could only get a new ballpark maybe they can have a decent payroll assuming they do it right

• Matt Olson may be gone, but Shea Langeliers is doing his best to help A’s fans get over all that. The former first-round pick and top prospect has been hitting well all season at Triple-A Las Vegas, but he went supersonic this week. In the past seven days, the 24-year-old catcher has batted .333/.402/.905. Stretch back a bit further and he clubbed five home runs in a span of six games, bringing his total to nine for the season. That includes a walk-off shot one night and a two-homer game the next. Langeliers is walking nearly as often as he’s striking out and his slugging percentage starts with a seven. For the season, he’s hitting .316 with a 1.133 OPS.

Pache is struggling with the bat but he's also in the top 10 in MLB in runs saved already, wowing them already with his defense.

Merciful heavens, Shea Langeliers has 10 HRs in 22 games for the A’s Triple-A team.
He also has 14 walks and a 1.169 OPS.

And he's a good defensive catcher who throws runners out.

This is perfect timing for us, now that we've built our entire lineup of guys swinging for the fences on every pitch.

He may end up being the one that got away. I was really disappointed to see him traded. Good defensive catchers with power bats are hard to come by while outfielder prospects seem to be easily replaced.

I said when he was traded that it was a huge mistake. He'll be a perennial all-star who will be the best catcher in the game. The best draft pick we've had since Chipper and we gave him away. Hardest position on the field to find a really, really good player and we had him. Makes me sick.

I don't think we gave him away, he was necessary to get Olson......but if we end up screwed in the end I'm going to hold that against Freddie. I already do, and always will, until we see how this plays out. We could have had Freddie, Langeliers and Pache, instead we ended up with Olson and really the Rosario contract because we had the extra money leftover because Olson was cheaper than Freddie. It will likely play out pretty evenly in the end, but if it doesn't Ima really hate Fred for costing us Langeliers.

A dead ball is the obvious change that the game needs with guys throwing a million miles an hour. LMAO

I miss him already. Always have liked him. He is the only Dodger I ever liked. He's from the San Francisco area. I HOPE that's the only reason we didn't sign him.

I have all the respect in the world for the potential of Langeliers. That is one prospect I was not crazy about moving. I usually do not give a dam about prospects but this was one I would have like to have kept, who wouldn't
Langeliers may very well be say, a Buster Posey type. But he still is not in the show just yet so I want to see him at the big league level before I am convinced. I felt the same way when Ronald Jr was comming up, just wanted to see him in the show. But he does seem to be on the right trace
In Olson we got our guy and in time I think he will be hitting the long ball more consistently in time. Hey even Freeman has only 3 HRS to date so maybe there is something over the issue of the baseballs. Olson seems to be breaking out of that slump he was in so that is good

Sure wish we could have kept Joc over Rosario but hindsight is always 20/20. Rosario got a bad break and hope it will not be career threatening as fans we generally take a players eyes for granted but that can be worse then leg or back injuries

When he crossed home plate after hitting that HR I heard him yell one word really clearly at the heckler, the word pu**y. Knowing Joc he probably said “stick that in your mom’s pu**y.”
