As I feared, when a team blows another away like we did last night, they usually look ragged the next day. Right now I'd say we're in the ragged category. We need a big turnaround fast.

The announcers are talking about Newk getting ahead with 2 strikes but then being unable to put the batter away efficiently after that point.
They noted that it’s just something he is learning to do as a young pitcher, but I think it is more than that.
I mentioned this several times last year, so its as good a time as any to bring it up again.
It’s a Braves organizational thing. It’s not just Newk. It’s every single starter we have, and it doesn’t matter whose name is on the back of the jersey from year to year. They all jump ahead with 2 strikes and they begin the off the plate nibbling trying to get them to swing. They don’t trust their stuff or their ability to make the bat miss the pitch. They nibble their way to 3-2 way too often after being ahead, and then are forced to throw it in there.
I think it’s a Chuck Hernandez/organization thing because it’s true even with our pitchers who have swing and miss stuff.

I'm holding out hope for one of the world famous Braves' late innings comeback. Please?
