The bullpen guys better step it up today. Musgrove is pretty good.

I hate these stupid bullpen games Especially when your manager is a moron. Even if your manager is a genius, you’re counting on more arms being on their game than normal. It’s more of a gamble IMHO.

I remember back in the day when Chuck Tanner suggested using pitchers this way people thought he was crazy, and now it's commonplace.

This is not real baseball, the opener is the biggest bastardization of the game I have heard of Worse then the constant extreme using of the shift and the concept of WAR for my liking (or disliking) Before long we will be needing 15 man pitching staffs on rosters. Maybe an exaggeration of course but maybe not if this keeps catching on. Either you are a starter or you are not. Anyway, good luck Braves and Pirates, its a Sunday Ticket day for me.

Chuck Tanner also used a 3 man rotation for a time when he was the White Sox manager when he had Wilbur Wood, Stan Bahnsen and a young Tom Bradley. Sort of worked out for one yr in '72 but his team ran out of gas vs the budding dynasty A's. He also used a 6 man rotation with the Pirates for a time in the late 70s, Bert Blyleven wanted to be traded He was a bit to out of the box but had some success in the 70s, not so much in the 80s. He really did not have much to work with here.

Bucs are good through three (it won't last, if course).
