Fried has been ACE like for most of this year. Maybe we have that ACE kind of pitcher after all.
As I have posted the starting pitching for the most part has been quite good.
We sure needed that shutout. The good old fashioned CG, it would happen more if the brain trusts of baseball today would allow it

David O'Brien @dobrienatl In his past 20 appearances, #Braves closer Will Smith has allowed 7 home runs and 11 runs in 19 1/3 innings. Has four blown saves and two losses in that span. (SUCKAGE) That is the manager's fault for keeping him in that crucial role in a tight race. He is the only one who can do something about it. I blame the manager more than the player who I am sure is giving 100 pct but is not good enough to do the job

(SUCKAGE) Leaving him in the closer role is beyond ridiculous. We're in a super tight race and that brain-dead moron manager we have just keeps trotting his sorry arse out there in 1 run games. It is indefensible.

That’s almost as baffling as him continuously putting Smith in there. Why has it been crickets from the media about it? Are they afraid of Snit? Or does no one want to hurt the old guy’s feelings. I just don’t get it. Or what about AA? I know he doesn’t want to spend all that money for a middle reliever but doesn’t he have a responsibility as the GM to at least suggest a better option? It just amazes me that this father figure type of manager is wielding all of this power.

Maybe if Snit and Smith came out as constitutional conservatives some hard questions would be asked!

The Atlanta sports media has always been subservient to the teams.
We've talked about that many times.

I listen to the sports talk on NESN and YES. Snit would not survive in those towns.
NESN is tougher than YES. Even I cannot take some of what is on NESN and I have Boston roots. Prefer Michael Kay from NY. I cannot even take Felger and Mazz on NESN.
As for the ATL media, 92.9 the game will report the good and bad but I cannot take that flagship station 680 the FAN. They are apologists and our sports writers are not that knowledgeable. Been here since '88 and don't think that will change
The only coach around here that I think would survive in those markets is Kirby Smart, he is one tough SOB and is the one coach around here that will give us the parade we want. CFB is not easy but this might be the yr
