And this is why despite winning the series, a loss like today is quite a blow. You can't lose games like that this time of year. I'd say the bullpen pitchers should be ashamed of themselves, but the fact is they just aren't up to the task on far too many days. They're just not very good.

They're just not very good. that is definitely something that must be addressed in the off season. It is now a 1a/1b thing between it and getting Freddie resigned

Almost every single game we run 4-5 relief pitchers out there.
1 of those guys at least once every 2 games is bound to be off, and they must face at least 3 batters so some real damage can happen.
It wouldn't have helped last night as Webb was 1st guy in, but I said early on the best way to manage this pen is if you bring in a reliever who is effective; let him pitch two innings.
