When he's got control of that slider, he's tough.

Actually has a lot to do with control of the fastball as well. When he can locate his fastball, batters are more prone to swing at the slider (and miss) because they can't tell them apart. If he can't locate the fastball then they don't swing at either of them and sit on his other pitches

Tyler Flowers. He got lucky, but he hustled and got that game- winning run home. By the way, why wasn't he sent up there earlier instead of Adam Dunuthin'?

There is no guarantee that Flowers would have done anything with the bases loaded. Snit knew there would be another opportunity against a different pitcher later, and to keep himself from being able to turn to Duvall then, he took him out of the latter-equation.

That Snitker cat really is a baseball savant! Actually, I understand the move, but it sure is fun giving Snit poop about it!

I don't understand why he absolutely, positively refuses to squeeze, though. Today was a perfect situation for it, IMO. 2nd and 3rd, no outs, Dansby up. He gets the run in, we have the lead and another 90 feet away. He fails, we still have the runner on 3rd and one out. Oh well. All's well that ends well.

He safety squeezed very recently with Dansby... but I think it was the 1st ot maybe second time all year. I think I remember one squeeze very early in the year.
See... Snit understands that the squeeze is like fine caviar or that filet of Dover Sole that is only available a couple of times a year. You must truly save them for times when you can savor every moment.

Two of the smartest things Bobby Cox did was green light hitters on 3-0 counts and use the squeeze play. I always liked both.

Acuna with 2 walks, a hit, an RBI and a SB.
Honorable mention to Joyce for the two run pinch HR that got us back into the game only to be Jackson Snitkered.

McCann with the walkoff

McCann getting that hit was pretty surprising after he had two pretty bad swinging strikes. That was a very nice joint effort for the team with two outs. If McCann's wins it, Riley's not that far behind for getting an RBI and Markakis and himself in scoring position. McCann though 3-5, a homerun, 3 RBI's, and game winner definitely makes him the pog.
Edit I didn't even know that was McCann's 1000th RBI, until I watched the replay, that easily makes him the Player of the Game. Just 4 days after Nick Markakis. He's now the 252nd player with 1000 or more RBI's in the MLB.
