David O'Brien @dobrienatl #Braves lost 3-2 in 10 innings, lead trimmed to 3 1/2 games over Phillies. Braves went 1-for-10 w/ RISP, have dropped first two games of the three-game series and 10 of 12 home games vs. Rockies since Truist Park opened in 2017. Atlanta falls to 4-8 in extra-inning games in 2021.

Team says due to rain last night and this morning, grounds crew needs additional time to prepare the field for play. They are hoping for a 2:15pm first pitch.

Home runs are great, but why do the Braves (as an organization) struggle so much in the area of creating runs.
The extra inning record is awful because of it, & it's also a huge part of why the Braves are lousy in the playoffs ... and the home run or bust mindset is not just this year. It's been going on for a while.

Mark Bowman @mlbbowman They are bringing the bags in from the Rockies bullpen. No official word yet. But the infield may be too saturated to play today.

Field is too saturated to play, looks like a postponement necessary. Only date they can make this up is October 4th, if it is needed as they don't have mutual off days on the remaining schedule.

Mark Bowman @mlbbowman It’s not about today’s rain. It’s about how last night’s rain saturated the infield to the point it now seems to be unplayable today.

Atlanta is a top 10 team in many offensive categories, so I doubt anyone within the organization has any issue with Seitzer. It's really the type of players we've acquired to construct the team.

Mark Bowman @mlbbowman Snitker said the infield never had a chance to dry when it was covered after being soaked during last night's game. The conditions never improved even after the grounds crew drenched the surface with Diamond Dry this morning. He said they probably could have banged it at 10 a.m.
(I guess I'm thinking a major league team would be able to get a field ready to play 12 hours after the last game. COuldn't the cover the area and blow dry it sufficiently?)
