Well yeah... if you assume our pen would have shut them down and we would now be burning our 4th reliever instead of our 2nd one. He did get out of the 2nd without further damage, and did go another inning after that. Should have pinch hit for him though in the bottom of the 4th because 5 was all you were going to get anyway. NOOOOO, I am not not assuming our pen would have shut them down, they probably would not have, but I knew Touki was gonna run a wheel off. Then how would we be ahead 2-1? You overreacted. No big deal.

We are going to have to find a 5th starter this off season fair and square
Where and how much - who knows. Maybe someone in the system can step up but Touki is really getting his chance to step up and show consistency and etc, but while he has had some good games its just not enough to trust him down the stretch
Maybe Smyly might be the option the next time around he might have gotten some rest if he had a dead arm. Hey what do I know but Touki is struggling as of late its that location which is at least two thirds of pitching

I would have liked to see Webb go a second inning and why can't more relievers be groomed to go two?
Is it too much to consider guys going back to back pitching two innings, in the old days closers used to close going two and sometimes more
Too much specialization and underutilization

Launch angle or minimal. This team just can't string together hits to put up 3-4 run innings most night. Crooked numbers in one inning usually involve a multi-run homer.

Not good enough, time for rest. For once would be nice to not always play from behind, just one of these nights do not need this
Hope the Cubs can help a little.

This is a game where a more forward thinking manager would have taken Touki out after 4 innings. You could see he was just surviving. That would have been a perfect time for Smyly to come in, too. But Snitker just can't manage. It's been gone over ad nauseum here, but he's the biggest problem we have most of the time.

There's only a handful of occasions they won because of him.
