Got lucky he had their weakest part of the order there for the last 2 outs. Last pitch was still very cringe.
These Marlins could well be a division threat next year. Lot of good pitchers and Brinson and Chisholm seem like solid players to build around.

Back to back two out of three vs division opponents. And that is a good thing by anyone's standards even vs the 4th and 5th place teams.
And this Marlins team is no matchup to laugh about.
As long as we can stay 10 over all will be fine. I do not think the NYM and PHL have enough time to finish with 86 W

Lot of good pitchers and Brinson and Chisholm seem like solid players to build around. De la Cruz and Jesus Sanchez are interesting players too. They do have to tighten the defense Who knows how good Sixto Sanchez can be once he is healthy Also note Brian Anderson - they will be a pain in the tail and they do not have the Jeffery Loria ownership around anymore. They have the potential to be on to something but will that market draw enough for them to up the payroll enough to keep some of the roster in tact once guys are ready to be paid. The future, so uncertain. As I see the baseball and other sports future, always I believe it if I see it.

Honestly, I turned to football for a time in the bottom of the 9th and it was teams I really do not have a rooting interest for. I am too old to put that kind of emotion anymore. I used to get near sick during games but this day in time I just chill out and either turn to something else or vent on here. Smith drives me whacko but today it was good enough

Smith drives me whacko but today it was good enough there are times, usually during football games where I can FEEL my blood pressure go up. Face goes red and burns. Check it, and sure enough its high. Last year during bama-vs ole miss it got to 170/103. Went back to 129/77 20 minutes after it concluded.

Rosario swings at a lot of bad pitches. He fits right in. It's the way of the modern day ballplayer.

Did anyone notice Smith getting into a stare down confrontation with Sanchez in the 9th before Sanchez tripled off the wall?
Every time this beta tries to puff his chest out and go alpha he loses. He should have figured that out by now. He needs to stop acting like he's Clint Eastwood or John Wayne out there and just focus on making good pitches.
I don't mind swagger and some cockiness, in fact I prefer it, but you earn the right to do it with performance, you can't just demand it and then in the meantime keep failing.

Marlins announcers pointed out today that our infield has missed a total of just 7 games, all of the players added together.
And a couple of those were only because Ozzie fouled that ball off of his kneecap.
That is simply retarded.

Waters .240/.337/.379/.716 (still struggling with consistency and too many K's)
Pache .268/.340/.431/.771 (pretty hot in August and September)
Camargo .312/.388/.516/.904 (in the hunt to win the batting title) Demeritte .294/.383/.620/1.003 (OPS over 1.000 and hasn't had one big league AB this year)
Mueller had another good outing today, his 5th straight good one since being sent back down. His walk totals haven't been terrible, but not good either. Probably keeping him from getting a shot over Touki and Smyly.
Bryce Elder started pitching in Rome this year, then went to Mississippi, and has now had 4 good showings in all 4 of his outings with Gwinnett.

Yeah, it's not something to be proud of, especially as their manager. I don't think guys should start more than 150 games. I say start because of pinch hitting. If you start every regular 150 times, it leaves 12 games per starter for other guys. That's 84 games (I'm not counting the catcher). Personally, I'd make sure everybody got at least 1 start per week, but that's just me.
