Early 2 run deficit made the difference. If they keep that stuff up, these kinds of results be the norm.
It's at least 50/50 the marlins put a couple up in the first again tomorrow.

The Marlins are good now, they're hungry and they have nothing to lose. They're just letting her rip and showing people they better beware next season.

We're gonna regret that trade big time. I thought Rodriguez was better than he is. According to his numbers he was. I wonder if we started tinkering with something after we acquired him, even if it's just pitch calling.
Well I have made many posts about our pitch selection over the years.

Well I have made many posts about our pitch selection over the years. Yes and we obviously have issues in that regard, so it makes me wonder if they changed his preferred patterns when we got him. The decision to throw DeLaCruz another fastball tonight was wretched. He was right on 2 or 3 of the fastballs he had been given, he just missed hammering them. The fastball right before his home run in particular. After he fouled it he walked around talking to himself because he was so upset he had missed hitting that meatball. It was obvious we needed to throw something away and preferably an offspeed pitch of some kind, but instead we came right back with another fastball, even meatier than the one before it.

He got hit in the sticky stuff crack. Check his #s before and after.

Bottom line is that we are only going to go as far as our pen allows us to. And it’s a crapshoot most nights. That’s why I’m not going to get too up or down the rest of the way. While it will be better to play in October than sit at home, it’s more than likely going to be a short postseason ride anyway. All or nothing offense, shaky pen and questionable managing does not often equal October success.

I'm beginning to think Pittsburgh sold us damaged goods. Rodriguez's numbers are down (or up as the case may be) across the board. Not only has his HR ratio skyrocketed, but he has struck out only 6 batters in over 19 innings pitched. He struck out 7.7 per 9 this year with Pittsburgh and 2.7 per 9 with the Braves.

That's on us for buying what they were selling, but he does fit in perfectly with the rest of our bullpen hobos.
