Has it been determined we are stuck with the contract on this guy? Looks like it would violate some morals clause.

Don't look now, but Cristian Pache is scorching hot in Gwinnett:
August: .320/.386/.520/.906 September: .429/.500/.619/1.119
He has seven doubles and four home runs over his past 27 games. His walk rate is up to 10% and he is playing fantastic defense.

Even if criminal charges against Ozuna are ultimately dropped, he could still face a suspension from Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred’s office. The league is currently performing its own investigation, and there are numerous instances of suspensions under the domestic violence policy even in the absence of criminal charges. Ozuna appeared in 48 games for the Braves this season. He’s in the first season of a four-year, $65MM contract signed as a free agent this past winter but would not be paid during a suspension under the league’s domestic violence policy. www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/09/braves-marcell-ozuna-domestic-violence-intervention-program.html

I really don't know. I imagine he is since I haven't heard otherwise. My gut feeling is that Ozuna will never play for the Braves again. He will be released or traded for pennies on the dollar and/or they will eat money of the remaining $48M or whatever is left after his suspension.

Even if he starts slow if he is making contact and shows improvement and is not overwhelmed, its worth being patient with him. He can't be as oveermatched at the plate like he was

I don't think so. He may get a suspension into next season from MLB, but it won't be more than a month or two into the season and we'll be on the hook for the rest of his deal.
It's disgusting.
Nothing to see here, nothing ever happened, just forget about all of it, he's sorry and he's getting treatment (wink wink nudge nudge) and once again people with money can buy their way out of any trouble.

Does MLB have to have a criminal conviction in order to issue a DV related suspension? My guess is no, Manfred has Roger Goodel kind of powers
So I am guessing he is gone for at least all of next year. I doubt he is paid under suspension. As for the remaining 2 yrs who knows what can happen.
I am guessing we are stuck with him so we sort of have to try to make it work like it or not

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't more like 50.
