Lets give them some payback for last yrs NLCS. Won't be easy
Note -- this is not a Braves story but one guy I never want in a Braves uniform is Javier Baez, who the hell does he think he is. Bad guy.
Pretty dumb guy too. His actions probably cost him money in the open market. Smart GMs would not put up with that S.
One big market team should be out of the bidding for him if they are smart. Dumb guy

Smyly is 9-3, which is a perfect example of why the won/lost record is meaningless for pitchers, at least in today's game.

I'm glad to see Rosario playing again. I thought for sure Snitwit would bury Rosario on the bench.
It does further raise the suspicion at the same time that I've been feeling already, but methinks Snitker is not a big Joc Pederson fan. Joc started out batting leadoff against both LHP and RHP and was doing pretty good, then he got demoted to 7th and 8th in the lineup and started spending some games on the bench. He hasn't had a lot of ABs in the last 10 days, and now Rosario is being played ahead of Joc. I agree with Rosario over Joc, but at the same time it makes one wonder what's going on with the Joc treatment. And I'm not talking about Lotrimin here.
It also seems to clear up one question about who among these newly acquired outfielders might or might not be with us beyond this season.

well facing their 3 best pitchers i hope we win at least 1 but tonight on paper looks bad Vegas has the Braves as -210... That's heavy. Not only do you have the pitching matchup, but you also have game 1 with an East coast team going to the West coast which is a betting factor that points heavily toward the home boys.

Not to mention the fact that the Dodgers got shut out at home yesterday, which wouldn't seem to bode well, but it's baseball so who knows?

Smyly is 9-3, which is a perfect example of why the won/lost record is meaningless for pitchers, at least in today's game. I like to know the team's record when the SP starts and even that is a team based record. It used to be in the papers in some cities when papers mattered. The one thing wins tell me is that a guy is usually going the required 5, maybe 6 but IP is an important number today. And some guys can win without their best stuff. I still don't think its totally meaningless, but it does not have the same significance of prior generations. You even have to look beyond the ERA - one crazy bad outing can skew that number The W-L was always to a degree a function of the team around the pitcher. Even back in the day it was not the end all and be all. I thought Phil Niekro's record and durability was quite amazing in his time and consider most of the teams he pitched for. Ted let him go two yrs too early Had some of his best yrs in the late 70s when he was near 40 and the team was not that good from 1976 to 79. Might have been around .500 W-L at the time but he was not your typical .500 pitcher.

Joc should be playing no matter who pitches. These 3 games vs the Dodgers are like playoff games and Joc comes up big during playoffs.
