So I don't want to ever see Tomlin pitch, but why is he on the roster again? I don't think hes going to be for long. If Touki has to slot into the bullpen with Anderson returning and can pitch effectively, there is no room for Tomlin. I suspect we may finally see his DFA announcement soon. Them why did we send Santana down instead of DFAing Tomlin right now? Makes no sense whatsoever. Rosario didn't need the translator with first question? Ha Then, he utilizes translator. Hardly any of those guys need a translator. You see them out there talking to other players who I'll guarantee don't speak Spanish. This is just baseball embracing diversity by highlighting these guys native language isn't English.

Turned out to be a nice weekend taking two of three vs a real good SF team. Hell we should have split vs that hated team in pinstripes but the umpires took care of their boys in that second game, it is what it is.
But we know who is next so the guys have to stay on their toes.
Hope Anderson is feeling good after this work out - nice game after all this time out. Got to be careful with him

Santana did not do a bad job at all, why he was sent down - that is one for the FO to answer.
AA should face accountability for enabling Tomlin to stay on this roster. No one knows why 'cept for Snitker, AA and maybe Kranitz

Even though we got swept by the Yanks, we were competitive and ended up winning a series with the team with the best record in baseball. Not too bad at all.
We are suddenly loaded in the OF. Who would have ever thought that after RA went down?
We also got Anderson back, which really boosts our starting rotation.

Does anybody feel like Vogt will ever get another hit this year? I don't. Vogt is the black hole of Fulton County.
Why is Touki going to the pen instead of Smyly? I know it's nice to have a lefty in the rotation, but you need him to actually be pitching decent.

Vogt headed to where Smith left for:

There has to be somebody in this local media other than this message board fourm of unpaid non experts that would write or blog or in the talk media say something about the issue of Tomlin. Or in a blog somewhere. I have not seen anything but maybe there is someone in the twilight zone that is as perplexed as we are as to why Tomlin is on this roster. I kind of like Santana. And to respond to Vogt, his offense is getting to the Kevan Smith level. He was a good player at one time but since he is here hes been zilch at the plate.

And to respond to Vogt, his offense is getting to the Kevan Smith level. He was a good player at one time but since he is here hes been zilch at the plate. One of the things that gripes me about Tomlin taking up a roster spot for no possible discernible reason is that we're really playing with a short bench so we can have extra bullpen guys. But then Sargent Squirrelnuts makes up for that by playing a bunch of his guys every single day. We have played one or two fewer games than most teams in baseball, and we have four players ranked in the top 12 of most games played in MLB. Dansby is tied for 1st, then Freeman and Riley are tied for 3rd and Ozzie is tied for 12th. There's a good chance it's going to show at some point between now and the end of the season.
And I just don't get being a reporter and being such a suck up that you can't ask a simple and obvious question, which is a reasonable question, to inquire that we get an explanation as to why Tomlin is on the team. The only option I see right now is we are waiting until we have a game where we are down 10 runs so he can eat those innings. Quite a messed up reason to keep a guy around. Because now we can't even trust him in games where we are up 8 or 9 runs.
And another question would be why can't d'Arnaud play 2 out of every 3 games or even 3 out of every 4? Why do we have Vogt playing every other day? d'Arnaud has had plenty of off time all summer, he should be good and fresh and rested.

NYY 0 OAK 1 Top 6th, 2 out, bases clear
I guess the UMPS and replay in N.Y. is ready to assist the Yankees to victory. #HateTheYankees

As for our reporters, I would not be surprised if they seriously not thinking about the question about Tomlin. I think we have mediocre reporters at best and even that is a stretch. Its a C minus on their good days. As for Vogt, yea, does this local media even think how unproductive he is - they never really talked about Kevan Smith how horrible he was. Its not a thinking fans media, if that is what you are looking for the AJC is not the place for you. I skim through it but do not really get into it every day. This board gives me more info than the local paper and our TV and radio reporters. That is sad, tell me if I am wrong - anybody on this fourm tell me if I am not off the wall exaggerating and show me where I am wrong - I would like to be. I am frustrated about it - Is my frustration out of place on that ? If I am off the wall let me know I can take it

Vogt is 2-30 in August for a .067 average. Since playing his first game with the Braves on July 18, he is 10-65 for a .154 average. Shockingly has 6 RBI. Kevan had a marginally higher average and 3 RBI.
In other words, yeeeeeeeesh, d'arnaud couldn't have come back soon enough.

As to the quality of the questions asked by Atlanta sports writers, I have a friend who has worked at Atlanta sports venues for 40+ years and has told me several things over the years that have proven to be true at some point.
He has told me on numerous occasions that it a well known no-no with the Atlanta sports teams to ask owners, management, or coaches anything other than soft-ball questions. Whether it be the Braves, Falcons, or Hawks; if you ask hard questions you will receive the freeze-out going forward. He told me one story from years ago regarding the Falcons where a beat reporter asked an uncomfortable question to Coach Mora and was then banned from traveling with the team. He told me another about the Braves reporters traveling with the team and anyone who asked questions management didn't like were banished to the rear of the airplane!
