I believe the only thing that could hold the Braves back from this division is certain parts of the bullpen.
Starters have now entered into the top 10 in ERA with a 3.88.

YAY!
Almost surely won't happen though because we've been winning and Sargent Brickbrains thinks that means don't change ANYTHING about the lineup. Like dont even DFA Tomlin, because we're winning, and we might start losing if we change the roster like that.
"The problem is, the Braves winning and scoring more runs after Albies was moved to leadoff is not the same thing as the Braves winning and scoring more runs because Albies was moved to leadoff."
Brilliant!
And then I think he lost me here because I think he's saying bat Soler leadoff???
He wrote:
"My ideal lineup probably looks something like:
CF Pederson RF Soler 1B Freeman 3B Riley SS Swanson 2B Albies C d’Arnaud LF Duvall
If you’re worried about Pederson vs LHP then ok fine, put Heredia in CF, bat him 8th, and push everyone up a spot."
Eddie Rosario should be ready any day, it will be quite interesting to see how he is used (or not used).

The 2 off days produced another game in front of the Phils. From 4 1/2 games up to 5 1/2 games up.

Rosario finished in the top 20 in AL MVP voting twice in the last four years.
He just went on a recent tear at Gwinnett.....he has the potential to really help us a lot.
But I'm sensing he's going to rot on the bench and get 3 AB's per week. The only place I can see him getting any time is platooning with Duvall?

"It should be noted that “platoon player” does not equal “bench player”. Most successful teams are so successful because they have so much depth that they can play players in situations only where they excel. No one looks at Joc Pederson and thinks “bench player”. However, when the Dodgers were healthy, he mostly only played versus righties as a Dodger.
Of course, this is all dependent on a few things. Rosario needs to get fully healthy and back to his normal self. It also means that Brian Snitker has to actually take advantage of platoon splits.
Against righties, Soler has no business batting 2nd, and Heredia should not be playing at all. Will that happen? Time will tell. With Rosario in the fold, at least there are more tools in the tool chest to be successful."
lol, this guy gets it......

Snit will probably give Rosario as much time as Almonte was getting.

Hoping for a dub on my bday today. Don't care if it is 1-0 via a passed ball, wild pitch, bases loaded walk, HBP. Just win.

So what is Tomlin's role at this point? Just sitting around waiting until we have a game where we are down by 8 or 10 runs? I mean you really can't use him any other way. Interesting use of a roster spot.
He hasn't pitched in 9 days, he's only made three appearances in August and his numbers for that are
ERA 18.56
WHIP 2.81 BAA .500
And we seriously don't have any reporter who has the cajones to ask Snitker why in the hell this guy is taking up a roster spot?
