So, why didn’t he go with Webb or Greene if they were the better options? This question really has me dumbfounded. The answer really is because either AA mandated that Tomlin be on the team and Snitker is enough of a mouse to go along with it, or AA and Snitker decided together that Tomlin should be on the team. Either way there’s no defending Snitker over it. It’s not like it’s a gray area. Tomlin is a disaster. The only possible use for him would be as an inning eater in games where we were getting blown out. NEVER when we’re ahead, even if it’s 100 runs. But why even waste a roster spot for that? Having a pitcher who is your ten runs ahead or ten runs behind guy has never made sense to me.

I use to be a purist when it came to the DH...but I've come around. It's just so much more enjoyable when you don't have the pitcher as an automatic out in the 9 hole. There are a few exceptions of course (Max), but how many times have the Braves had runners on only to have the 8 and 9 hitters up...and you have Ender and the pitcher. Ugh. I know it takes away a lot of the strategy and managerial decision making, but I'm about ready to see the universal DH.
