Folty pitched a complete game shutout against the Nats in 2019. I think that was 2018. He threw 2 that year. The was Folty's one very good yr, too bad he could not keep it up - he is struggling in Texas right now albit with a bad team He is still not a real old guy, maybe he finds his way to an exceptional season again somewhere. This day in time its about the stuff as much as results. I have not seen him this yr do cannot comment on the stuff. The numbers are not good even with a bad team

Folty doesn't have what it takes between the ears. He never did.

Mets currently down 3-1 to LA, but philly is up 3-0 on SD, who appear to be in a fairly lengthy slump. So need to win these next two vs the O's as well before facing the red hot Yankees.

.500 (20-20) from here in gets the Braves to 86 wins. The failies have to go 25-16 and the mutts 26-15 to get to 86 wins.

Mets lose and have now scored 3 runs or less in half their games. And have not drawn a walk in their past 28 innings.

Maybe, but if the stuff is good, the velo is there and the arm healthy some one will take a look see this day in time. The stuff between the ears well, that is what we remember about him but I have not seen him at all this yr nor have I read anything on him in Texas so I don't know

Folty has had four good outings in a row and if he finishes that way he’ll stick in the big leagues. but that’s a big if, he’s always streaky. The last I knew his velocity was down to about 90. Which is crazy because one year with us he led the majors with the highest average fastball at 98.

He pitched 6 innings (104 pitches) with 8 K's and gave up 2 hits and 2 runs, both on solo shots. He was reaching 98-99 consistently and hit 100 a couple of times. The Braves lost 2-0, Chris Tillman pitched 8.2 innings of shutout ball on 4 hits and Britton closed it with his 26th save.

He's one of the most classic cases that having great stuff and top notch velocity doesn't mean you can be a good consistent big league pitcher. Having command issues and not being able to control those six inches between your ears plays a major role in things.
