What sayeth you now Fumb? I said wow and let's see how the next 6 weeks go. OK, let's surmise 30 HR, .270, 90 RBI, .800+ OPS. What are you offering?

David O'Brien @dobrienatl Dansby Swanson had three homers in the last three games of July and has homered in each of the first two games of this series. In a 15-game span, he's hit .386 (22-for-57) with 5 homers and 18 RBIs, and has only struck out 6 times. That's after 49 strikes in previous 41 games.

Wow, pretty amazing.
We need about three more runs and we'll have this game DeTomlinized and Smithproofed.
DeTomlinized and Smithproofed. LMAO!

A very good defensive shortstop that puts up those numbers is easily $25 per, but Dansby isn't there. He's more .260/20/70/.750 going forward IMO. Think he'll get something like 6/$110.

I would have to do some looking at what the going rate is for top 10 shortstops in the game. Until about 6 weeks ago Dansby was a career very average SS in baseball. If he can finish the way you just said that's two strong seasons in a row and would make him worthy of being moved up a notch on the ladder. If he finishes with those numbers the Braves will offer him a great deal because they love him anyway. But personally I'm not sold until he shows me he isn't going to hit .125 over the last 6-8 weeks. For the record, he has a career .675 OPS in September.

We've been here with him before. There's no denying that he's much better than he was, though. Time will tell.

For tonight lets hope the good work is kept up in the 8th by whomever and this game can truly be Smith proofed.
Actually I would rather be Smith proofed then Tomlin proofed cause we know Smith is put in the position to cost us
Tomlin, we know he will not be put in to protect a one run lead

If you do not keep Dansby who do you go with? Some one in the system - Shewmake is a way from being ready.
You know you are not getting a Story or a Correra, in essence either pay your man or settle for something less.
With Dans, you do get some pop, good D and overall, we know what he is.
Of course the main thing is keeping Freddie happy - as for the business of the game I do not know what Dansby will command
For a stopgap, I guess you can bring back a guy like Andrelton Simmons as a stop gap till someone in the system like Shewmake might be ready
That is a way away though. And I know Andy has not done that well in Minnesota. But he has a track record.

This Albies kid is pretty good. Did we ever think that he would hit with that kind of power - that is what has surprised me And in time we have to take care of this guy too - he is a must not lose guy for your franchise

If you want a guy who posts average numbers in the long run, you can be sold on THAT with Dansby. But considering moving him into the top 5 or 10 SS's in baseball and paying him that way, he has to prove he can be more consistent. His end numbers are average in a very unusual way, because he has months where he has a 1.100 + OPS and he has months where he has a .385 OPS. I WANT to believe he's turning the corner, but he has to prove that. In the meantime, kudos, because he's killing it right now.

Ozzie is signed through 25 with a team option for 2026-27.
