RHP Richard Rodríguez and OF Jorge Soler have reported to Atlanta and will be active for tonight’s game. To make room on the active roster, the #Braves optioned INF/OF Orlando Arcia and LHP Sean Newcomb to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Yeah, seems it's time for him to move on and see if he can find a niche somewhere. It's obviously not happening here.

David O'Brien @dobrienatl Duvall has a $7M mutual option for 2022 with a $3M buyout. If #Braves decline option, they pay buyout and Duvall is arb eligible (one more season until FA). If Braves exercise option, Duvall then has to decide whether to accept or decline it.

Mets ace Jacob deGrom suffers injury setback, out until at least September (7/30/21)On the same day they made a major acquisition at the trade deadline, the New York Mets also received a piece of bad news. Mets ace Jacob deGrom had a setback in his injury rehab, general manager Zack Scott told reporters Friday. Scott said that deGrom has inflammation in his pitching elbow, but there is no ligament damage. According to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo, deGrom will not throw for the next two weeks. The goal is to get deGrom back in the rotation by September. Scott said the team learned of deGrom’s status earlier Friday afternoon, a few hours before MLB’s 4 p.m. ET trade deadline. The Mets added two-time All-Star Javier Baez in a trade with the Chicago Cubs, but did not bolster the rotation — even after receiving the results of deGrom’s MRI. deGrom, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, has been on the injured list since July 18 due to right forearm tightness. Before the injury, he was dominant, posting a 7-2 record with a stellar 1.08 ERA in 99.1 innings pitched. The Mets had not been offering specific timetables for deGrom’s return, but the injury was not expected to keep him off the mound for long. That changed with this recent setback. The news is significant for the Mets as they continue their quest to win the National League East for the first time since 2015. At 54-47, the Mets are currently 3.5 games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies (51-51) for first place in the division. The Atlanta Braves are four games back at 51-52. sports.yahoo.com/mets-ace-jacob-de-grom-suffers-setback-out-until-at-least-september-225401638.html

He could find his niche elsewhere its not like he is an old guy who is physically broken down with no stuff But after five yrs here its not happening at this place It might even be time to cut loose with Shane Greene who is just not getting it done at all this yr. Maybe signing late hurt him, but its not like the industry was going crazy for him this past FA season. Maybe he can get a minor league contract somewhere for next yr and rebuild his career somewhere. I am sure that Minter will work his way back down the stretch he had been the good AJ in Gwinnett. When he is on, he is a nice LH weapon in that pen

We sure have had our bad breaks with pitchers injuries over the yrs. I still think if our guys can get out of their own way we can still make a run. Last night - as I said was a big missed opportunity. But with this new infusion of talent its doable. Assuming we do not keep beating ourselves. Still steaming about last night the way we lost but its a new game this time around.
