How are we going to fit all these outfielders on the active roster??? That is a good question, not sure what they will do with Soler, he has not hit well the last 2 yrs but we will see In the end, are we better off with Duvall, Rosario and Soler over Almonte and Heredia? That is answered in the affirmative No we did nothing about the pen while other teams did What did we give up to get what we have gotten? Not a whole lot as far as accomplishment right now. Some might not like giving up Alex Jackson - maybe he does better in Miami maybe not I am surprised we got anything for him - maybe they can do something with him Some might argue vs giving up Bryce Ball - he is at least 2 yrs away and struggling in A ball Don't know much about Kalish he is another minor league pitcher for now As for the pen - can we get better work from Martin and Greene. Can Minter come back and be effective . That is the stand Alex took for now I am okay with the moves made even with the quantity of outfielders some one will be DFAed

They musta got that deal done at 3:59:59 pm. From what I've seen, that guy is actually pretty good. So to only trade Wilson and a guy a lot have never heard of(myself included) isnt bad at all. Wilson had good stuff, but just couldn't get it going down here. Maybe he can be far more successful with their coaches.
In the mean time, let's hope Kranitz doesnt screw up Rodriguez......

is he under control for next year No Wow, I'm sorry, but giving up Wilson is a pretty steep price for a rental closer who Snitker will surely use incorrectly........Wilson has not blossomed but the potential is there.
We've made ourselves noticeably better on paper in the last few weeks, but given up Ball, Alex Jackson (and his 1.066 OPS this year) and Wilson to do it. Those aren't three of our top prospects, but it's a pretty big chunk to put us at a point where now we might eke into the playoffs barely, but if we do, we're getting slaughtered in the first round. I wouldn't have given up any of those players, let alone all three, to do that. Those three players all had quite a bit of potential, and who can you say fits into our future plans now among the guys we just acquired? They were all brought in just for this season. I don't like the smell of it.

De Vito is soom to be 23 and has been buried in A+ ball in Rome for this yr He and Kalish (also 23) were in the 5th tier of prospects on the site I read, not much to lose but you never know Wilson is a guy who might not be a bad return for them, but we have enough developing young guys for now you cannot keep them all As for Rodriguez, not a bad pick up. I think he is just a rental but in the end as it stands, the ATL Braves are a better team at the major league level than they were 24 hours ago. Not bad work for AA. Will have to make some moves with the excess OF guys though. Todays work gives me the gut hunch we will be serious about keeping Freddie and Morton. The FO tried and did not quit on the season. Hope it works. What did we really give up as I see it. Wilson is the one piece we might say if this and that down the road but the rest, no big deal

I am guessing you were on the side of selling - the only piece I can question is Wilson but you have to give up something to get something and per baseball reference we have two yrs till 2024 of control I would have shared your alarm had they given up the top of their system. I do not believe in Jackson and Ball, he is at least a couple or three yrs away and he really did struggle in A this yr. Does not mean he is a stiff, could bite us but my view is Alex did not give up so I do not mind the smell of it Only time tells, and I am confident we will keep Charlie and Freddie beyond this yr BTW, since the trade Bryce Ball is hitting all of .158 without a single RBI at the Cubs A+ affiliate in South Bend. He really does not look like a prize package.

I dont think jackson was ever going to become a full time player, whereas I believe Langeliers will.

Really glad the FO didn't give up on the season. We have tons of OF's now. RR will be a welcomed addition to the BP.
It will be great to not have to see Almonte or Garcia in the starting line up. I guess we are stuck with Heredia in CF.
