In the last 10 minutes, Atlanta has completely remade its outfield. First it got Eddie Rosario from Cleveland and now it’s acquiring Adam Duvall from Miami for Alex Jackson. These aren’t splashes. The cost isn’t high. But the Braves are getting better. How will NL East respond? I still feel like someone is trolling us but guess not. Its too good to be true - still shocked in a good way I cannot believe we unloaded Panda who has done nothing - WTH is Cleveland doing? Their problem.

The Braves have talked to the Cubs about Kimbrel. They've strengthened their outfield with Duvall and bolstered their bench with Rosario, who should be healthy w/in the next couple weeks. Adding Kimbrel, Iglesias or another high-leverage reliever could still happen.

Hearing Buxton may still be in play for the #Braves, despite the new look outfield. Obviously, this move would cost a bit more. I’ll be interested to see if it goes through, because a healthy Buxton is a fun thing, but there’s no denying Braves could use some pitching.

I get that we might be selling high on Jackson right now, but my god has he been cranking the ball in AAA. He hit two more long home runs Wednesday night. And he's hitting for average. He's hitting almost zero at the MLB level, but I'm pretty sure we're about to watch that change. And we gave him up for a guy we could have signed in the offseason without giving up any players, wow.....

we bring back duvall for alex jackson This is horrible... Not bringing that bringing back Duvall is horrible, but the fact that we simply could have re-signed Duvall for not much money at all and had him all season... we let him go, and then trade a power hitting catcher prospect to get him back. I called not re-signing Duvall a bad move when it happened, and then we have to do this to get him back???

Twins trying to dump Donaldson. I think we made the right decision not to go the extra years and money on him.

Duvall is terribly inconsistent. Overall he's a decent/good player and he plays good defense, but he can be an all or nothing guy on offense for long stretches. I realize Jackson has not shown anything at the big league level to indicate he can hit at that level, but he also had never done this in the minor leagues:
.287/.366/.694/1.060
Hi swing and confidence look so different now, he doesn't just look like he can hit at the MLB right now, he looks like he can be a good MLB hitter. As much trouble as we've had with the catching position, I would like to have seen what he can do at the big league level. I know we have Contreras and Langeliers in the wings, but Jackson looks way more ready than those guys right now. I feel like we've given up on a guy who has a really good chance to be a good MLB player for a half assed shot at winning our division this year....and not seeing Duvall as a guy who improves those odds by that much. Just the kind of move we shouldn't be making.

I think AA panicked... made a stupid move regarding Duvall twice now... and is somehow "going for it" in a year where will be out 1st round if we make it. This was a Westie move. Then think about this... Miami did this after their "we don't trade within our division" stuff? They are probably belly laughing as they roll around on the floor. Again... not because getting Duvall doesn't help us right now, but because of the way the whole thing went down.
