Craig Mish @craigmish As I reported previously Miami continues to pursue a CF option to replace Marte. It could come in the Marte trade or in a separate deal where they trade Pitching prospects. Some fascinating names to guess on, but none that I am certain on as of this Morning.

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi Sources: Max Scherzer trade talks have continued to intensify, and those close to the conversations believe a deal could be reached by late tonight. The Giants, Dodgers, and Padres are among the top suitors, but other clubs are involved. @mlbnetwork @mlb

We have not given him a chance. If we can get Marte now without giving up much well, sure. Two weeks ago I would have given up Touki and Wright but they have done better and not so sure they should be trade bait now, they are showing signs of figuring it out. I kind of like a tweak to this roster for now and not selling off the farm and, not selling off the viable assets we have unless someone blows us away with an offer If you sell, get well above market value it only takes one team to overpay. If the Braves win these two games vs the Mets, we are in good shape as we are with maybe a minor tweak Who says that a rejuvenated Minter cannot be the asset we need for the pen once he is back.

We would be lucky if they would do that / these are two guys who are not in the Braves plans. Might have to throw in a non top 30 prospect. I do want Demerritte to get a chance. He could be a guy teams are looking at

Given the fact that the Braves are hellbent on NOT using Camargo, I agree.........and that's a pretty good return for the Marlins, too.

We can always wait and try to sign him in the offseason.

And I just don’t believe Newcomb is ever going to consistently throw strikes, he struggled all through the minors. But his stuff is so good it has to be tantalizing to other teams, thinking maybe they can fix him. I gave up on him two years ago, elevator shafted and never returned. Marlins would be a good fit for Camargo. With Demeritte, I don’t see how a guy has an OPS over 1.100 the whole season and doesn’t get one big league AB in a weak outfield. Sargent Poopy Pants must not like him.

I think AA allows too much input from Snitker on things, and that's why we see things like Demeritte never getting a shot and Tomlin and the Panda being on the roster. Snit sucks at roster management and roster building as well. Look at Panda. Can he hit? No. Can he field? No. Can he throw? No. Can he run? No. Hell, I could do what he's doing, and I'd do it at a bargain basement salary, too.

On one hand I think the manager should be in control of who plays, but there’s gotta be a point where a GM forces a managers hand, and we go WAY past that point and AA just lets the mismanagement go on endlessly.

Yea, I say we throw in someone who is in the lower end of the minors, not a top 30 right now If we are not going to use Demerritte, might as well get something for him. I disagree with not giving him a chance and maybe moving him but if they want to use him as trade bait what can you do. I have a hunch he will be used as trade bait agree or disagree. Its AA and Snitker's opinion that matters right or wrong. Right now I do not know what Camargo offers, but if he can come back to his 2017 and 18 form than good for him. Its our fault for underuse. Newcomb, who knows. We have been down that road so many times

David O'Brien @dobrienatl “There’s a lot of unknowns, understandably so. But I think we all believe in the group we have…I don’t think there’s any point to speculate because I think we believe in ourselves that we can do it. We just need to get on a roll.” — Braves’ Charlie Morton

Today by far in my eyes the biggest game of the year for the Braves. Need to win and keep momentum vs the Mets. Pitching & defense will be crucial.
We can do this.
