I like this one better because you can see him--not sure if it's the exact same skit or not, I don't have time right now to sit here and listen to them.

I like the non stop theory that he is really Alex Jones. Kinison was great. Andrew Dice Clay was my favorite ...nothing political and ..well it was just crude but damn funny. I loved Kinison, and I hate to admit it on one hand, but Clay was hilarious at times too. I loved Carlin, but Richard Pryor is still the king in my opinion.

I've heard that from so many people including other famous comediennes but I've never heard a Richard Pryor act in my life. I've seen a few of his movies as a kid but that's about it.

Pryor’s standup was amazing...
People forget but the mainstream black comedy that crossed racial lines was squeaky clean (ha!) Bill Cosby. Then within the black community you had people like Redd Foxx, but all white America knew of Foxx was “Sanford and Son”.
Pryor was really the first guy to bring that edgy black humor with all of it’s sexual and drug references into the mainstream. It was really groundbreaking stuff. I remember hearing it for the very first time and laughing like I had never laughed before.

Blazing Saddles is another movie I haven't seen. I'm a little behind on my hollywood and American pop culture. I have watched quite a few movies from the 30's, 40's and stars like Cagney, Bogart, Garbo..you get the idea but have probably only seen 20 hollywood movies in the last decade or so.

One of Pryor's strengths was being able to make fun of white people and black people and make both of them laugh about all of it. And that was really important at that point in history. I honestly believe that he cared about all people and he would crap if he could see the racial divide that Obama created and that the media has continued to push. Pryor was doing the exact opposite.

First there was Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Jean Beliveau, Guy LeFleur and Yvan Cornoyer to make me like Canada, then Reddy had to come along and blow that all to hell.

Never heard of Helen Reddy but when I looked her up it says she is an Aussie with American/Australian citizenship.
