#Braves haven't announced who's starting Saturday's Grapefruit League opener against the Rays in Port Charlotte. Spencer Strider threw his live BP on Monday, so that would be regular rest if they were to start him Saturday. But don't know if they are. They'll announce Friday. Via David OBrien

Other than Ludlow in LF and White in CF, the Braves will be playing their regular starting lineup today vs Boston.

Sale looked vintage in his two innings today. 0 walks.. 0 hits...4k's...95mph and hit 97mph. If we get that this year, that trade will be the biggest heist since the Brinks job. Hopefully, that will allay some fears that a couple people on the bored have regarding what he has left in the tank. Looks like he has high octane... maybe to the chagrin of some who'd rather be right than proven wrong.

Smith-Shawver touched up for three runs over two innings vs. the Phillies today. Gave up HRs to Realmuto and Bohm.
Tromp and Harris went deep for the Braves 4-3 Braves in the 4th.

Just curious... Ken Giles got 3k's today in one inning of work. Did anybody see that and can share any info? Mph on fastball for instance?
Baseball writer Jayson Stark of The Athletic provided an update on how 2024 spring training is going so far for Giles. On Wednesday, Giles struck out Phillies sluggers Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, and Alec Bohm on what Stark referred to as “unhittable sliders.”

The sliders were nasty. I think there’s little or no question he can still be elite, as anyone with a lick of sense knows the real question is he going be able to stay healthy. Charlie Culberson pitch an inning against the Rays today. Faced four batters, gave up a hit but no runs. Of course, I think the Braves were up by ten at that point.
