Rosario at $9m is worth it. Snit isn't going anywhere and nothing will change as far as how he manages. He will continue to play Acuna, Olson, Ozzie, and Riley every single game. He will continue to remove Eddie against left handers in favor of a right handed batter no matter what. I don't think there's any way in the world we are going to sign Eddie for another year. Snitker doesn't like him.
I don't think there are many other options unless you spend more money. Tommy Pham was one but he's pricing himself out of our range right now.
It's going to be funny if we cough up the money and sign Bellinger and he flops, just what we need, another career playoff choker who strikes out a lot and has the potential to OPS .550.
The best option I could see is trade Blowzuna for a decent SP, sign Jorge Soler as the DH and sign Pillar to play LF every day so Snitker can rub himself all year.

The Phillies have a a coach that actually managed his team by the seat of his pants, took less talent and they produced. Our manager goes b the book, never plays a hunch, just sits there a craps his pants. We need new blood at the helm.I never understand why they think he's a good manager, we need somebody who can light a fire under the players and get results. Like to have seen what Wash could have done with this team. Please don't ask for Snit to deviate from the book and manage by the seat of his pants. When he does that we end up with that batting order he rolled out there in game 1. Rumor is he initially had Kranitz playing SS in that game before they explained to him he couldn't do that. It took a while.

Yea, no ones gonna confuse Snit for Sparky Anderson, Chuck Tanner or even Bruce Bochy. He's fortunate to have a ton of elite players that erase most of his managerial blunders. After getting over 100 wins the last two seasons...plus with the capital of winning the WS in 21...he's not getting fired. But the bottom line is that Snit isn't the guy batting with the bases loaded... and flying out. Getting outplayed in 34 of the 36 innings of playoff ball. He's not 0 for the world as Harris was. We had the right guys at the plate at the most important times of the game. And I can guarantee you, they weren't thinking about Snit while crapping the bed in those situations. What really bothers me is to see guys like Acuna, Albies and Arcia laughing after being comatose at the plate. That is unacceptable, and it shows a lack of accountability. Hard to believe that if Harper was on the team, that that would be happening. This team somewhat lacks a killer instinct... cohesiveness, and urgency. Not sure what the cure is for that. If they couldn't get motivated after getting raped by the Phillies last year, and disappointingly assuming the supine position again for the second straight year...then there is a problem with this unit. If Acuna, who has been just brilliant this year, couldn't rise and meet the challenge in that situation, that was tailor made for him...then how could you expect anyone else? Him flying out had to be the most disappointing feeling for me this year. My nephew who is a die hard Phils fan texted me saying that he swore he would hit a slam. I said nah... the moment was too big for him. There has to be an accounting of what took place for the second straight year. And an adjustment has to be made. Somehow... AA should study the Phillies and determine what it is about them that makes them so lethal in the post season. Because we sure could use a little of that.

As an addendum to my post mortem... Our bullpen was lacking. Period. There isn't one guy save for maybe Minter who you could say you'd be comfortable in a high leverage situation. Maybe Pierce Johnson and Iglesias. Other than that, they were all a disaster ready to happen. And everyone here knows it. Conversely, the Phillies built one hell of a bullpen. Hoffman, Kerkering, Dominguez, Alvarado, Soto, Kimbrel... all high leverage pitchers who throw the ball threw a wall, and who you can put in high leverage situations with confidence. I know the prevailing joke around here is that the guy throws a hunnert, so he must be good. Well these guys do, and we couldn't hit it. We simply don't have guys like that. That was a major difference. Even Strahm, who isn't quite as elite as the others, but definitely more ugly, proved his mettle last nite in the most high leverage situation in his career. Yea, so there is a ton of work to be done in the off season. Sign a legit starter...relief pitcher or two and maybe add to the outfield...

At the end of the day, we didn’t hit. Had we hit we would have won 3-1 series.

At the end of the day, we didn’t hit. Had we hit we would have won 3-1 series. The reason we didn't hit is because we couldn't hit their pitching. It just didn't happen in a vacuum. Good pitching beats good hitting...all....day....long. It's the truest axiom in all of sports.

Having better pitchers doesn't do a thing about what our hitters couldn't do.

Apparently our pitchers couldn't do anything about their hitting as they gave up 20 runs in 4 games... The one unforgivable blunder on Snits plate was the double pinch running of Wall and Lopez leaving us with the anemic trio of Pillar, Rosario and Grissom to save the Braves season. Let that sink in.

I don't think you're really that dumb, but stranger things have happened. Half those runs came in one game, and you know that. Anyway so back to reality instead of this whacko pitching narrative, what Snit did on several occasions is nothing that has to sink in. It's burned into my memory cells.

Let’s play 162 games. Get the best record and you are rewarded w 5 days off. Plus don’t reseed meaning Braves would have played DBacks and Dodgers play Phillies . MLB has to do something. This doesn’t help division winners w best records. I remember the Rockies in 2007. They won 21 out of 22 games at the end of the year including 7 straight playoff games and then had to sit around 8 days to play in the World Series and got swept by the Red Sox. Maybe the Red Sox win anyways but if they had played right away I think the Rockies would have certainly performed better. All the momentum, adrenaline and focus was just gone by sitting around for 8 days with no competition. They simply lost their mojo. A day or two off is good for the players. A week, not so much, although it may help the pitchers get a few extra days of rest. Some teams can compensate and still win, especially if their opponent lacks offense.

Agree. That Rockies team could have won 2 games at least.
